Gryffindor Mani

Happy Monday! I have a case of the Mondays. :/ I think I am going to make some pumpkin bread tonight if I have enough ingredients.

We FINALLY went to see Harry Potter yesterday afternoon! Note to self: even if you don't think you have to go BEFORE the movie starts anyway. I didn't get a drink at the movie but had drank a glass of chocolate milk and a little bit of diet root beer not long before we left. Unfortunately I decided to wait until after the movie to make a bathroom stop. Bad move. Hoping my bladder wasn't going to explode distracted me a tad bit from the movie. lol. I know it is bad but there was no way under the sun I was getting up and missing part of the movie because I was too stupid to go before the movie. Other than that though the movie was GREAT! I had read the book so I knew what was going on but they brought it to life really well. I am sad that it is over though.

The mani I was wearing for the movie was my Gryffindor mani. I didn't even attempt to make a lion but I liked it anyway.

I used Wet N Wild The Gold and the Beautiful which was one of the ones I didn't get when the new fast dry polishes came out. I picked it up specifically for this mani and as a bonus it came with a free clear so that was cool. The red is OPI Red-y to Help.

The Gold and the Beautiful is a lot more sheer than I anticipated. I thought it would get opaque but alas it did not. I used two coats and there was still visible nail line. This baby sparkles a ton though and I really liked it. It applied quite nicely. I am not real sure about the Wet N Wild brush but I didn't have much trouble with it.

I used OPI Red-y to Help for the red parts because I wasn't sure what other color to use lol. It worked great and applied really well. I have had this one for a while now but since I am not a big red fan I rarely use it.

It looked great in the sun light and my son was much happier with this mani than the Slytherin. He was at his dad's house but I texted him pictures.

The only issue I had with this mani is it was way too close to Florida State colors. Luckily it isn't football season lol.

That's all for now :)

  1. Fun mani! I'm not sure when I'll get to see the movie--I'm just not motivated to deal with opening weekend crowds anymore, etc.

  2. I HATE crowds especially opening weekend crowds but it was actually not as crazy as I anticipated. We got there about 20 minutes early and got great seats in the middle then it started getting fuller but was not sold out. I didn't want to go and deal with people but other than the annoying cheering it was not horrible.
