Mahogany Magic and the Money Badger

Hey Everyone!!! I think my coworker is seriously trying to cause me to perish from hypothermia. I am freezing in this office! On another note I am apparently obsessed with all red and white glitter polishes. Last year I got KB Shimmer Candy Cane Crush because I was absolutely in love with it. Then I just recently bought Girly Bits Canuck the Dots which is also red and white glitter. Today I went to Sally Beauty and had to force myself to put their holiday red and white glitter back on the shelf instead of buying it. I am still wanting to go back for it. Please explain to me why I do not need yet another red and white glitter. I am highly disappointed that I can't find the stupid Sally Hansen green and white glitter anymore because all of the drugstores that had that display took it away to put their stupid perfume gift sets out for Christmas. I am kicking myself for not buying it when I saw it since I can't find it now. This year I want green and white glitter! I would be tempted to make my own but I don't have the glitter.

Today I have another Fall mani even though it doesn't have any stamping over it. I got lazy and decided not to stamp on it. I loved the glitter and didn't really want to cover it up.

Bruce was checking out my mani while I took the pictures. I think he approved.

Please excuse the red stamping on my index finger. I didn't like how it came out so I abandoned the effort. I am so lazy.

I used three coats of China Glaze Mahogany Magic for the base of this mani. I could have used two. I love this polish. Application is a breeze and I love the color.

I used one coat Sation Money Badger over Mahogany Magic to give it a fall look.

I really enjoyed this mani. I almost redid my nails with the same colors a couple days later. I realized that I don't have much time left for Fall manis so I couldn't repeat a mani. I actually did this mani before the fall leaves mani I showed you yesterday. Instead of repeating this mani I just used Mahogany Magic and Lacquistry Yolk-o Oh-no so I didn't stray too far from the look. Did I mention I obsess with colors?

This is one of my favorite Fall manis.

A bottle shot of Money Badger and Mahogany Magic.

That's all for now :)

Fall Leaves

Hey Everyone!!! Bonus post today!!! I wanted to do Fall/Thanksgiving manis this week but I also wanted to post the birthday mani so today I am doing two posts! Yay! I love oranges and browns and yellows so I love Fall and the manis that can be inspired by it.

This mani didn't quite come out like I had wanted but I still like it. I intended on stamping in red but couldn't find a red that stamped well enough for it to show. Once again I now realize I need stamping polishes. I am going to have to bump that up on my wish list.

I started with two coats of China Glaze Mahogany Magic. It is my current favorite Fall polish. I used one coat of Lacquistry Yolk-o Oh no to add some glitter to the mani.

I used Bundle Monster plate BM-H11 from the Holiday collection to stamp the leaves on. I used black polish since nothing else wanted to cooperate. Don't mind my random pinkie design. I accidentally used the wrong image and didn't realize it until I had already stamped my nail.

This mani was really pretty in the sun when the glitter caught the light. I wasn't overly excited about the black stamping because it was so dark but I love the leaves pattern.

I want to do an awesome stamper decal with these leaves and super pretty fall colors. Hopefully I can fit it in because I am running out of fall here. I know technically Fall doesn't end until December but it just feels wrong to have fall nails during December.

I love Lacquistry polishes too. Right now she has some of her polishes on sale as well as some new holiday polishes up in the shop.

Ahhh I am ready for Thanksgiving now! I am hoping it cools off here for Thursday but I am not going to hold my breath. I love when it is cool enough on Thanksgiving to open up the windows and enjoy the Fall air. That rarely happens here though. I do have my Leaves candle from Bath and Body Works ready to go in case I can't enjoy the open windows.

That's all for now :)

Birthday Mani for T!

Hey Everyone!!! Today is an especially blah Monday. I am tired. I stayed up way too late watching the Denver vs. Patriots game last night. I also ate way too much junk over the weekend that my tummy was not happy with so I was up and unable to sleep last night. I am really tired today. T turned 15 years old yesterday, FIFTEEN!!! I can't believe he is 15 already. It feels like he was just a itty bitty turkey baby not that long ago. He started off as a 28 week 2lb 10oz 15 inch baby and is now taller than I am and doing wonderfully. He actually made superior honor roll last quarter and gets to go to an honor roll breakfast Wed. I am a proud mama. He won't be with me this year for Thanksgiving and I am not thrilled about the fact that not only will he not be home but he will be traveling with his father upstate for the weekend. I always worry when he travels.

I did a birthday mani to celebrate the big 15 this weekend. It didn't come out quite as I had hoped but it did bring me to the realization that I need to get some stamping polishes. I still thought the mani was cute and festive.

I used a base of China Glaze Fairy Dust so get some sparkle in the mani. I used two coats of Fairy Dust. I used various other colors for the stamping, most of them where striping polishes from Sinful Colors.

I used Bundle Monster plates BM-H19 and BM-H20 for the designs.

My pinkies have the party hat design but the colors I used didn't show up very well. I used balloons on my ring fingers, happy birthday on my middle and the candles on my index fingers.

I painted the flame on the candle because once again the polish I used for stamping didn't show very well.

I had to post my birthday mani in front of T's birthday Derby Pie. He wasn't feeling well after dinner so he didn't get any of the pie yet. Don't feel too bad for the boy though, I had made him a cake on Saturday for his little birthday celebration with his friend.

I love this Bundle Monster plate set! I can't wait to use all the holiday designs. I am so excited to now have birthday plates!

That's all for now :)

Sally Hansen Style Steel

Hey Everyone!! It is finally Friday!! I am tired today and ready for the weekend. I am actually ready for having four days off for Thanksgiving. T will be going with his dad for Thanksgiving and C has to work so I have no idea what I am going to do. I think if I don't get to it this weekend I will definitely need to refresh my hair color next weekend. I am thinking of doing half of my green blue and the other will stay green just to change it up a bit. We will see.

Today I have a quick post for you. I would have more pictures of this polish but it lasted less than a day on me. When I went to take more pictures I noticed that on one nail 2/3 of the polish was gone. There was extreme lifting in other areas as well. I am not sure what happened but I think I used a different base coat.

This is two coats of Sally Hansen Style Steel from their Fall Insta Dri Collection. There are still a few of these hanging around on clearance in the Target bins if you missed them while they were on the shelf. The first time I actually noticed the display they were all already on clearance.

I really like this color though I don't think it does much for my hands. I think it might need some stamping to liven it up.

I am excited to see if this stamps well. I have high hopes for it since most of the Insta Dris I have come in contact with stamp fabulously.

I am ready for Thanksgiving. This is my one decoration and it hangs on the front door. Hopefully I get into the Christmas spirit a little bit more than the rest of the holidays this year.

That's all for now :)

Epidote and Quartz Monzonite and more.

Hey Everyone!!! Is it Friday yet? I can't believe it is already almost Thanksgiving. Where is the time going? My baby's birthday is this weekend and he is turning, gasp, 15! I can't even believe it. Today I have a mish mash post for you all.

First up I have a recent picture of Charlie the broken puppy. He is all better, physically anyway. He is nuts. Completely crazy. I love him though and he can be super sweet when he isn't being a maniac. He loves stuffed animals and prances, yes prances, around with his babies proudly showing them off. He is a nut.

I was supposed to include these pictures in the post I did for Elevation Polish Epidote but they weren't edited at the time. I wanted to try Elevation Quartz Monsonite so I used it as an accent nail for my Epidote mani.

I love this combination so much. Quartz Monsonite is a great glitter topper that features an array of colors. It has wine, black, gray and neon microglitter and a red shimmer. I love that polish. I need to try it over all different bases but I did like this combination a lot.

I wasn't able to get any sun shots but you can see the holo in Epidote inside too.

I really love this combination of colors but would never have thought to put the neon yellow in there. I am so glad Lulu is smarter than I am.

I think I need to try this over a nude or gray base next.

I love this combination so much I made some earrings out of it.

I had started to make my nails pointy again but then all my points broke off. I am having a wicked case of peelies and my nails are horrific. I have no idea what to do with them at this point. I am considering a gel mani which would be on the boring side for the blog but might help them grow and not break. We will see.

Another one of my polish jewelry projects was a couple of pendants. For some reason H is way too into the mustache thing and wants all things mustache. I decided since her favorite color was purple I would make her a polish pendant with a mustache.

I was talking to a friend and her daughter is about the same age and H and also heavily into the mustache scene. She even had her birthday party with a mustache theme. I made her the pink pendant since her favorite color is pink.

If someone could explain to me what the deal with these teeny boppers and mustaches is I would be happy to hear an explanation. When I asked H she has no answer she just likes them. I told my mom about this fad and she about fell off the couch. I am thinking maybe we should start a fad where everyone likes big toes and make millions of dollars with big toe merchandise. Seriously, we could make it happen! I mean, mustaches? Why not big toes? And remember I said it here first so don't steal my big toe idea!!!

That's all for now :)

Elevation Epidote

Hey Everyone! Is it Friday yet? I didn't end up making my pumpkin bread last night so I am hoping to do that tonight. I have been saying I was going to make some pumpkin bread for about three weeks now and I have yet to make any. I did get my weird bed wedge pillow thing in the mail last night. Let me just say that was one of the most interesting packing jobs I have ever seen for a product. I wish I would have taken a picture. The thing came in a box about half the size of the pillow and the pillow was in a roll shape. I thought for sure they sent me the wrong item until I freed it from the plastic wrap and read the instructions. The wrapping told me to free the pillow from the wrapping immediately and wait for it to regain it's shape. Sure enough as soon as it was free it started to puff up again. So weird. I am still on the fence with the pillow. I didn't sleep really well but I didn't have many issues with my stomach either. I am hoping that I get used to sleeping in such a weird position and that I don't fall off the pillow and give myself a black eye.

Today I have one of the awesome Elevation Polishes that was released recently. I actually have more pictures of this polish after I did an accent nail however they aren't edited yet. Since this is the last post I have  ready I figured I would get it up instead of waiting until I get home tonight when I may or may not actually get to post it. I might add those pictures later.

This is three coats of Elevation Polish Epidote from the Stones Throw Collection.

Epidote is a gorgeous olive green holo polish. I love green. I love olives.

The sun was not really cooperative the day I was taking these pictures.

The application was great and the polish is really very pretty. I was trying very hard to get the sun to come out and play so I could get more sun shots.

I jumped on this polish as soon as it was released and I was not disappointed when it finally arrived.

Look, it matches my car!

I actually made a pair of earrings with this polish because it is so gorgeous I need to be able to wear it often. I want a sweater this color!

That's all for now :)

Sarong so Right not Quite Right

Hey Everyone! I am going to make pumpkin bread tonight to help will it to be Fall here. I know it probably won't work but at least I will have yummy bread. It is quite breezy out but it is not cool enough at all to meet my expectations. It is the 13th of November and I can't get into the spirit of Fall because it is 80 degrees. Apparently there are already Christmas trees for sale too. Real, live, Christmas trees. IT IS NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING WEEK YET!!!! I really hate how the holidays are being pushed on us earlier and earlier without regard to the actual current season or holiday that is next in line waiting patiently to shine. Poor Thanksgiving is getting completely over looked by early November Christmas Tree lots and stores decked out in Christmas junk. It also severely annoys me that all the polish displays in the drug stores have been moved out to stock stupid gift sets of perfume and junk that nobody wants to buy.
Today's mani is somewhat of a fail. I wanted to do a cool Fall mani but my colors didn't cooperate.

I tried to use that leafy like pattern on Bundle Monster plate BM-316 but it didn't go so well.

Bruce's face in this picture is perfect. He was not pleased with the camera in his face. That is pretty much the look I had when I realized this mani wasn't going to be what I had planned.

I started with Finger Paints Sarong so Right from their 2013 A Pair Affair collection. Sarong so Right is a really pretty coral orange with tiny scattered holo glitter.

Sarong so Right wasn't as coral on me as it looks in the pictures. It is a gorgeous shade of orange and was the first polish to grab my attention when I saw the display.

I used Nabi 3D Rainbow Effect Hologram polish in Tawny for the stamping. I hadn't tried using Tawny before trying to stamp with it which was my first mistake. As you can see it didn't stamp very dark so if you didn't look close you could totally miss it.

In certain lights, at certain angles Tawny showed itself more but the detail on the image was lost.

I have Tawny on today and I love it but it isn't one of those polishes that I would use again for stamping unless I want something very subtle that won't be easily seen.

My Fall mani didn't come out very Fall-like but you can't really go wrong with Sarong so Right.

I love that the holo in this polish isn't so in your face and instead gives it a nice soft look.

That's all for now :)
