Dragon Scales

Hey Everyone!!! Yesterday I got it in my head that I wanted to make some polish jewelry pieces. I pretty much spent the day thinking up designs and being very antsy to get started. I only was able to start one piece being that I was at work and by the time I got home I was tired and not feeling well. Apparently I am going to make the pieces I planned out because I am ready to work on them! I always get these crazy ideas I feel I must do and then I work and work on them. Sometimes I actually finish them and sometimes I don't. I have a problem with not finishing projects too.

Today I have the finish of the mani I showed you last week. I started with a base of Catrice Enter the Undergrowth and Darling Diva Pendragon. I turned that mani into a dragon mani.

I used GALS stamping plate GA14 and Konad black stamping polish. I thought this image would give it a scale like appearance.

I used Matte Top Coat to give it a matte effect. I love matte top coat over glitter.

I love this mani. I love the colors and with the stamping I can totally see dragon scales.

My stamping did get a little bit smeared by the top coat but I think it was mostly my fault. It didn't happen on every nail. I really need to get better at top coating stamping.

I love this mani. I love Pendragon and had it on my wishlist for a really long time before I finally pulled the trigger. I am so happy that I did.

I was also thinking this color combination would make a nice camo mani. I might have to try that at some point later on.

That's all for now :)

Pendragon Enters the Undergrowth

Hey Everyone!!! Happy Friday!!! I have a quick post for you today. I forgot to upload more pictures so this one will be short. I should be able to catch up this weekend so I have some posts ready to go. Generally I edit the pictures and get them ready then all I have to do is write the post up on the day that I am posting. It has been a little hectic this week so I wasn't able to edit more pictures. I will get caught up someday.

Today's mani is the base for a grand mani idea I had.

I used Darling Diva Pendragon and Catrice Enter the Undergrowth from the 2011 Papagena Collection. This Catrice collection had a matte rubberize type of cap with lettering on it. Unfortunately for some odd reason the caps on my polishes from this collection got very gummy and sticky. I used some Goo Gone to try and get rid of the stickiness and it took off most of the lettering with it.

I used two coats of Enter the Undergrowth as a base.

I used one coat of Pendragon however I wanted more glitter. Instead of polishing it on I applied another coat with a makeup sponge. This saved me from having to do several coats and having a thick mani yet still gave me a nice amount of glitter. This mani was so blingy and shiny.

I will show you what the final look of this mani was in my next post ;)

That's all for now :)

Darling Diva Glacier

Hey Everyone!! Is it Friday yet? I wish! I am making a couple new pair of polish earrings today. I made two pendants the other day however somehow I lost one in the car. The box that the cabs were sitting on slid in the car and everything toppled over. I have pretty much looked everywhere and I can't find one of them. Sadly that was the one I made for a friend too. I guess I will have to make it over again. Today we are having computer issues at work. It is going to be a long day.

I have an insanely gorgeous polish for you today. I purchased this bad boy because it was on sale and at the time there was a special where you would get a free polish with purchase. I can't believe I didn't know about this polish before. It is stunning.

Darling Diva Glacier. Look at that baby shine. Glacier is a pretty soft, ice like blue holographic polish. Not only is it holo but there is also small iridescent glitter in there to give it an extra bit of oomph.

I used three coats for this mani. It is stunning in the light. I actually didn't realize quite how holo this polish is until I went out to lunch and caught sight of it in the sun. It was actually quite distracting while driving.

Such a pretty blue with such a gorgeous holo and sparkle.

The little yellowish spots you see on the nail in some of these pictures is the way the camera picked up the iridescent glitter. You can't see it in person but I noticed they came through that way in the pictures.

The glitter really gives this polish an extra wow factor, not that it needed it but it definitely is cool.

I am so glad I picked this one out on a whim and didn't miss it. Such a gorgeous polish.

I was planning on stamping over it with some snowflakes but I couldn't bring myself to cover it up.

You can see the glitter more in these shade pictures. I really like the addition of iridescent glitter. I would have never thought of that.

Darling Diva has some awesome polishes. I actually have two more on the way to me now. I can't get enough. She has some awesome holos that I have my eye on right now too.

Definitely a nice wintery polish and the name Glacier is perfect.

This one is blurry but you can see the pretty rainbows.

That's all for now :)

A Christmas Story

Hey Everyone!! Today I am on the road so I am writing this last night. Well technically it is tonight I am writing this and tomorrow you will read it. I am slightly tired, don't mind me. I just finished my mani after spending quite a bit of time updated my swatch book and cataloging my nail art glitter. I am covered in glitter and so tired. I need to get my stuff packed up to entertain me in the car then hit the sack.

Today I have for you my first Darling Diva Polish. I have my eye on several of them but I haven't been able to get them yet. This one came as a Christmas gift.

Darling Diva Polish A Christmas Story.

OMG this polish sparkles. According to DDP it is a combination of Red and Holographic Green Microglitters. I think it is magic! SO sparkly.

I don't like to use my indie polishes too fast so I layered this one over OPI German-icure by OPI. MUST CONSERVE THE PRETTY!

This is a perfect Christmas polish and it is crazy awesome.

It makes me want to buy ALL the Darling Diva Polishes. Too bad my wallet won't let me lol.

I might have to wear this one again before the end of my holiday season.

A nice blurry shot to show off the amazing holo sparkles.

That's all for now :)
