Whipped

Hey Everyone!!! I really hate when I mess up a mani about 2 minutes after completing it. I did today's mani and realized as I was top coating my second hand that somehow I got a smudge of the stamping color on the side of the tip. I should probably redo it but I don't want to. Then I realized I dinged the crap out of my thumb nail and wiped a bit of polish off. I am also not going to fix that ding because I have other stuff to do. Since you don't see my thumbs anyway I don't feel obligated to fix it just for my sake. Both little imperfections are making me crazy though because I can see them.

Today I have the final polish from the Sinful Colors Leather Luxe Collection. This polish is the black matte polish called Whipped. I did an accent nail with Catherine Arley 803 and then stamped with the opposite color using Born Pretty Store plate m64. I will review that plate in another post since it didn't quite show up on this mani.

I used three coats of Whipped. I love the black matte! The application was great and I could have probably gotten away with two coats if I was taking my time and doing a better job at applying it.

I used three coats of 803 as well. I love this polish but there was very little sun and I was having a very hard time getting the holo to show up. It is a fun lime green, chartreuse color.

803 wasn't really good with the stamping only in that it didn't show up very well. It might work over a lighter color and I am guessing that top coat might have brought it out a little more as well. I can't say for sure regarding the top coat but it was pretty subtle without it.

Whipped also stamped very well but was light when it was put on the nail. I can't remember if I put top coat on top of the stamped Whipped but it doesn't look like it. I should have probably written that part down.

I was hoping that 803 stamped would have added some sparkle to Whipped but I actually rather like the subtle look.

Hopefully my cuticles are on the mend too so I don't have to torture you with the dried out mess any longer. It was harder to apply oil and take pictures with the Leather Luxe collection because the oil left the polish looking shiny for far too long.

That's all for now :)

Giants for the WIN!!!!

Hey Everyone!!! I am super excited today since the Giants won the Superbowl yesterday! The bf's favorite team is the Giants and I have become and honorary fan since I met him. I also really do not like the Patriots, at all, not even a little bit. The game was way too stressful for me though lol.

So to celebrate the win I have my playoffs manis for you. The bf demanded I wear them for each of the playoff games since the second week I wore the mani they won. It had to be the EXACT same mani. He is funny.

Week 2 - NY 37 GB20

Week 3 NY 20 SF 17

GO GIANTS!!!!

Its the Bisbee Remix

Hey Everyone!! I have a cold! Please do not get too close to the screen as I do not wish to infect you. I don't feel completely awful which is a great thing but I do feel sick. I am actually glad that I got this cold instead of the stupidness that I had last month with the sinus issues.

I spent a wonderful day on my couch yesterday watching the playoffs. HOW BOUT THEM GIANTS?! I am super excited that the Giants are going to the Super Bowl. They have become my second team since I met the bf so I am excited from that perspective but also because I was not really enjoying the prospect of dealing with a very cranky Giants fan if they lost. He made me do my nails in the same way as I had them for last week's game. It was really cute because I had a green BB Couture polish on and kept showing him my nails and then I mentioned oh my Sunday nails and he flipped out because they weren't ready for the game. He momentarily lost sanity because it was the first game that was starting and not the Giants game. I ended up finishing them right before game time so he was happy.

I have a better version of the mani in these pictures! I did ding my thumb finger and messed that one up but I rarely show my thumb so it was ok.

I love the subtle holo that you can see through the NY decal.

Ok today I have for you another post with Hare Bisbee. I wanted to see how this baby would look layered over different color polishes.

I love Bisbee.

I did two coats of Bisbee over skittles in different colors. I believe my thumbs had three because I used Jesse's Girl Blackout as the basecoat and it looked streaky with just two coats.

From Index finger to Pinky I used Revlon Expresso, Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue, Revlon Emerald and Revlon Golden as the bases. I used three coats over Golden as well.

I thought it was crazy how much the colors changed depending on the base. I probably should have expected it but for whatever reason I was still surprised lol.

My favorites were Bisbee over Emerald and Thinking of Blue.

It was interesting how you couldn't even tell that the base under my index finger was brown except for where I messed it up and some of it showed through.

I think I like Bisbee best by itself but it does look really nice layered over different colors as well.

I also discovered I didn't really dig the whole skittle mani. It bothered me that my nails didn't all match and weren't all the same color. I am not sure if it was just the colors I chose for the base or skittles in general. I am going to have to give it another try. I also realize tonight that I HATE T-mobile! I have phone issues and they are not very helpful. AT ALL!

That's all for now :)

I'm Baaack with a Mani!

Hey Everyone!!!! I am so excited that the computer FINALLY has internet again. FINALLY! Though I enjoyed being internet lazy I missed my blog. I was able to access a lot of things on my dinosaur laptop and phone but what I could actually do was limited. I am not very technologically advanced over here lol.

So lets see, the puppy is still here, Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior is still being crazy and the famous Twiggy that I have posted pictures of before has gotten a home. The bf is very much not thrilled that Twiggy has gotten a home because he was hoping that she would be able to come live with us. At the same time it is good that she is going to a home so it is bittersweet.

I have a ton of polishes on my radar including a few brands that I have never tried before. I am really excited about some collections coming out as well as possibly doing theme weeks or days or something different. We will see. I have a lot of ideas.

Today I have for you my NFL Playoff mani that I did for Sunday's game. My bf is a HUGE NY Giants fan so you know I had to do some NY Giants nails.

These pictures were taken Monday so there is a ton of tip wear and some dings. The middle finger on my right hand was AWFUL! I did my nails before going to the kennel in somewhat of a rush. Well, of course, since I was in a rush I somehow messed up the tip when I was putting my shirt on. Note to self: put your shirt on first stoooopid! So I just touched up the blue and red and put a fresh coat of SV on there.

Yeah, it would have been fine BUT my dad brought the puppy to the kennel and little mr. puppy does not like to get in cars. I had to pick him up and force him in the car which just made a mess of it.

So I used Catherine Arley, Milani and a Sinful Colors striper. I used the nail decals I got from Luckystarstyle. It was quite a festive mani and the bf loved it.

I can't say that I was surprised that the Giants won because I had a feeling that they were going to do good. I am quite surprised that the Packers played the way they did and that they lost. Up until Sunday I was a firm believer in the Packers and was picking them to take the Super Bowl. Crazy how the tide turns.

SO the bf has told me that I HAVE TO wear this mani again next week. HAVE TO. I can't even change anything about it I HAVE to do it the same lol. He was also threatening to make me wear the same clothes too lol.

It is good to be back :) I am super excited to have my computer back lol

That's all for now :)

My Pretty Unicorn

Hey Everyone! This one is a little late. Between the lice and life it's been crazy around here. I got this nice little lice zapper today hehe I combed through the kids hair and didn't find any. Fingers crossed we are getting rid of the stupid things. I would really appreciate it if they would leave the premises.

Today I have another of the mystical creatures manis I did. This one was unicorns. There is no way my son could try and tell me he didn't see unicorns here!

I used Milani 3D Holographic polishes in Hi-Res, Cyberspace, Hi-Tech and the Orange Catherine Arley as well as a tiny bit of Wet N Wild Waves of Enchantment. I did all of this over a coat of Milani 3d Holographic HD. I then used Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris to stamp the unicorn image from Konad plate M28.

This was amazingly sparkly in the sun light.

The unicorn reminds me of Rainbow Brite.

I really loved this mani a lot and kept staring at it all day.

I couldn't get too many sun shots since it was of course overcast but even inside it was pretty spectacular.

I really liked this one.

And a bonus picture of Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior. He loves plastic bags and was attacking this one last night.

Here is was laying on the floor trying to attack us when we walked by.

That's all for now :)

The Holo-y One

Wouldn't it figure? I was just talking about how sunny Florida is and today I am wearing my last of the Catherine Arleys (and the most holo of the four) and it is an overcast day with no sun. I thought it was quite fitting that it would turn out that way. Unfortunately that means that these pictures aren't going to do this polish justice. I won't complain too much because I LOVE the overcast gloom, now if only it would rain too :) It is actually a little cooler out today too (by cooler I mean it is in the upper 70s).

Since the pictures of holoy goodness are a bust and I don't have any cute kitty pictures today I am throwing in a couple of bracelets I made last night. I was supposed to be adjusting and redoing a few items that people wanted differently and got a little distracted. I am supposed to be clearing out the jewelry I already have made not adding to the pile. Fortunately I made these two more for me anyway hehe. First we need to check out the polish though.

Catherine Arley #676. Have I mentioned that the lack of name drives me nuts? It is the pale silver one or the one second from the right. This is by far the most holo polish of the four. I can really see the rainbow even sitting at my desk in bad light. It's awesome. If this polish is THIS holo and Gosh and others are way more holo than these I think I need to find me at least one EXTREMELY STRONG holo. Just one, that is all I need lol.

Outside in the overcast it is hard to see. Unfortunately it was too dim for holo and not dim enough for flash. Figures.

In some of the pictures the flash actually went off, this was one. Hard to see it but if you get right up to your screen and squint while standing on one leg you can see it. I swear it is stronger in person!

Yup, not cooperating for the camera. I wonder if my mom's camera would be better. I was considering taking the money I made off the jewelry sold and buying a new one. I think I might if it is enough.

Ahhh a little holo there. That is the one of the bracelets :)

So apparently the holo wanted to come out when I was holding the bracelets. Whatever works!

This is inside at my desk.

I tried to force it to show. It worked a little. Still not as holo as in real life though.

Since you had to sit through weak holo pictures here is some fun bracelet pictures. I love these wrap bracelets. Not only do they look cool but I like to play with them too. I am like 5 sometimes! I have a simple black one that has 3 or 4 wraps and I will take it off and swing it around until it wraps around my arm. Yeah, sometimes I feel bad for having to get on my son about doing stupid things like that especially when I do it lol.

Up close. Hmmm is there a nail polish this color blue?

And the rock one. I forget off hand the name of that stone but I like it!

And the rock one on my pale arm. This one is heavier since they are rocks and not glass beads which means they are even better to swing around lol.
That's all for now :)

Introducing # 806

Last night my nails revolted. Again. I swear sometimes I wonder about them. They must have meetings while I am sleeping plotting exactly when they will decide to attack. I had a middle finger nail break for no apparent reason and then the index followed suite about an hour after I filed the middle one down. I am catching on to them though. Instead of waiting for the rest or most of the rest to break one by one I just filed them all down. Back to nubs. Luckily they aren't THAT short now but short enough to annoy me. I was very seriously considering getting a mani this weekend since I will be at the salon anyway. Boo for breaking nails because now I can't do that. I find it pointless to pay someone to do a mani on nubs. I can handle shaping nubs. Now I need to figure out how to keep the suckers from breaking. It's a never ending cycle I tell ya!

Today my nubs are sporting another Catherine Arley polish. The orange one which is #806. I wish they would just name these.

#806 is the second one from the left. It is a really pretty orange color that isn't too bright. I like this shade a lot.

This is a sun picture. Of course you can barely see the holo in pictures but it is there in person. It isn't OMG super holo but it does show up. I need a new camera bad!

This is in the shade with flash. I used two coats for this. I would have used three because there is visible nail line but mine aren't long enough for the nail line to really be visible.

At the right angle in the shade or indoors you can see the holo but like I said it isn't really strong.

Much stronger in the bright light. This shade reminds me of Halloween or Fall like colors. This is probably why I like it so much.

For some reason it is also making me hungry. That is probably not due to the nail polish but rather due to it being snack time but who knows. We can blame it on the polish lol.

I am really digging these Catherine Arleys. I actually was checking out swatches of the others and contemplating ordering some more.
That's all for now :)
