OPI Pros and Bronze

Hey Everyone! It has been another long day. I am feeling better on the cold front. Thank goodness. My neck has been killing me all day though. It is a little better tonight. I am pretty sure I really need to work on my stress level and anxiety. I was just discussing it with the bf actually. I am going to look up some techniques for stress relief and see if I can get any of them to work.

So today I have a polish I had been wanting for awhile. I never picked it up and then couldn't find it anywhere. I saw it at Publix (our local supermarket) and snatched it up and I may have done a little dance in the store as well.

OPI Pros and Bronze is from the Serena Williams Grand Slam US Open duo.

I already had Essie Bobbing for Baubles on so I just put Pros and Bronze over it. I love how it looked.

This polish is gorgeous. It is bronze, gold, copper and there is even some pink in there.

I took a lot of pictures because I was trying to get all the shifts in the shimmer of this polish.

I like how you can see the navy peaking through.

Sorry about the lack of cleanup. I did this in the car. I couldn't wait till I got home.

I tried to get the polish flashing it's color changes in the sun but it wasn't working out for me.

You will have to take my word for it. I am glad I was finally able to get my hands on this polish because it is really gorgeous. I am going to have to wear it alone soon.

That's all for now :)

Bobbing for Baubles

Hey Everyone! I am going to make this a quick one because my neck is killing me. I have the therapatch thingy that I bought for my chest to loosen the congestion on my neck/shoulder area right now. I think between coughing so much (yes, still coughing) and carrying the groceries in my right hand I tweaked my neck. Does it ever end? Geez. So of course I have a neck/headache right now and a cough which is not helping. I am highly accident prone.

So today I have for you Essie Bobbing for Baubles from the 2011 Winter Cocktail collection. I loved this dark dusky navy color and it was one of two I picked up from the collection.

This was two coats. It is a gorgeous color and I love how it looks dusty and has a gray tone to it. It is very shiny too.

As always my cuticles are parched in these photos. I am trying to get more diligent with my moisturizing of the cuticles.

I love how deep this color looks.

I had a lot of tip wear and some chips with this mani but it was when I was first trying the Cult Nails base and top coat out. I am not sure why but it was giving me some issues the first few manis and I was getting chips really quickly.

I also got some shimmer on my pinky nail so please ignore that the polish definitely should not have any shimmer in it.

Ok now it is over to the couch with me.

That's all for now :)

Indigo and a Dragon

Hey Everyone! Happy random Sunday! I had a very low key Saturday where I helped put together a pantry for my mom. I am Bob the Builder lol I love doing those kind of things. Let me tell you this one came with awesome instructions, each different screw and hardware piece was labeled and packaged in a separate little bubble. It is awesome how far these companies have come. I remember years ago when my mom and I would try and assemble bookshelves and such and everything was in a bag for the consumer to sort out themselves. I am really impressed and now I want to put more things together lol. Bruce was helping us build and supervising the whole process. I should have pictures of that coming up.

My cold is getting better though I still have some congestion and coughing. I fear it is going to stick around awhile but it is good to be feeling better.

Today I have the mani I did before adding OPI DS Sapphire to it. I finally remembered what it was. I used Zoya Indigo for the mani. I absolutely LOVE Zoya and this polish looks insane in the bottle but unfortunately does not translate to the nail as well.

I believe this was two coats. I took these pictures before putting Sapphire on top and you can see the tip wear and raggedness I was talking about. I won't even show you the other hand.

In the bottle Indigo has tons of holo micro glitter in it. You can see a little sparkle here or there in the pictures because of the flash but in real life unless you are in the sun or very lucky the glitter is not very noticeable. I knew this before buying it but I still loved it and couldn't resist. I just wish it looked as awesome on the nail as it does in the bottle.

I still really like the shade of blue so I am not completely disappointed. It is a very pretty color.

I also have pictures of the dragon I crocheted for the bf's daughter. He is a cute little dragon. It took me longer than it should have because I had run out of the yarn and had to wait to go up to Michaels to get more. The store isn't all that close to where I live.

I finally finished it though and gave it to her right before she went back home. She loved it so it worked out well.

That's all for now :)

Sapphires are so Pretty

Hey Everyone! I am feeling a bit better today. I did get sent home from work early though. My boss was tired of hearing me cough I think lol I was having some coughing fits here and there. I think the second customer I put on hold to have a coughing fit sealed the deal for me lol. SO I came home and relaxed a bit, made homemade meatball subs complete with homemade marinara sauce and coconut cake balls for desert. At least I was productive. :)

So today I have another OPI Designer Series polish for you. This one is DS Sapphire. I used one coat of Sapphire over a dark blue that I can not for the life of me remember what it is. Blame the coughing for rattling my brain too much. I usually don't forget these things. I did it at work because my mani was chipping and looking ragged so the cleanup is lacking.

The inside pictures are mostly with flash because the flash kept going off despite it being nice and bright in the office.

My brother has a little telescope and was just mentioning that you could see Jupiter tonight. Me and my brilliance over medicated over excited self tells the bf don't you want to go see Jupiter in the telescope with all the rings. DUH that would be Saturn smarty pants. lol

So back to Sapphire this baby was quite pretty both inside and in the sun. Sapphire doesn't seem to get the hype that the other OPI holos get but I thought it was pretty holo.

It was super rainbowy in the sun. Yes I make up words all the time.

I took a ton of pictures because it was so pretty. It was also one of the few holos that I could actually get good sun pictures of.

Now I just need to figure out what the base color I used was. I am going to have to go look in my basket because it should still be in there. I can't believe I forgot but then again I also was thinking Jupiter had rings for a minute there.

So pretty.

I have some random other pictures for you but I am going to have to save that for another post. I am starting to cough again and I am worn out from coughing all day and making dinner. I think tomorrow should be a nice low key day.

That's all for now :)

Sitting Tonight Out

Hey Everyone! Ok I am actually laying this one out. As soon as I got home tonight the coughing got so bad there were tears and headache and sore throat and general misery. I couldn't even finish dinner because I was coughing my lungs up. Then dear bf said he heard a story about a lady that actually DID cough her lungs up. Um, thanks for that. Men! The coughing is starting to ease up now that I have gone through a huge cup of water and several cough drops. I got the Mucinex DM in my system and am hoping I will be able to sleep tonight. If not maybe I will come post in the middle of the night. lol. I was actually thinking maybe I need to see a doctor. THAT NEVER HAPPENS lol. We will see. For now I am going to go back to the couch and try to keep my lungs in my chest.

That's all for now :)

Can You Hear the Music?

Hey Everyone! It has been a long day! I have to apologize for not posting yesterday. I am going to blame President Obama! I don't like politics so I am not even going to go there but my son had to watch the State of the Union Address last night. We had to watch it with him of course and explain it all to him. It was great fun. Between that and the cold it was a great night lol.

The puppy went for a very brief trial in his new home tonight. It didn't work out at all. The puppy was overly excited and bit the boy and the child was scared. We don't think he bit him hard but it was enough to scare the boy. He has never bitten us but he LOVES my son and jumps all over him and plays with him and it is rough and I think it was too rough for a little child which probably made the situation what it was. I was sad to see him go and sad to see him come back because I don't want him to go to the shelter and if we can't find him a home it might come to that. If you all could send positive vibes for him to find a home we would appreciate it. I wish he could stay with us but it doesn't seem possible. I luff him and I don't want him to go but it is not my decision.

So tonight I have a mani that I did for my son's last band concert. I did this really really rushed so it didn't come out as awesome as I wanted it to. I did the mani then had to run out to do an errand for the jazz band so I planned on doing the decals in the car before I went in. I lost one. Of course. I got one snoopy on there though. I didn't use a top coat and it was gone the next morning. I figured I would find it stuck to my forehead or something lol.

This is one coat of Essie Waltz as a base then I stamped the music design from Konad plate M22 in CND Urban Oasis.

I followed it up with two coats of Essie Waltz on top. I wanted to see what it would look like to sandwich stamping with a jelly polish. I really liked the subtle effect it gave it.

I got one of the Snoopy decals on there. I didn't quite think that through though because you can see the music notes in Snoopy. I should have either put it on a plain nail or made sure Snoopy's head was not where there was stamping because Snoopy's head should NOT have music notes in it. Ah well. Next time.

Waltz was pretty streaky for me and even with three coats you can still see some of the streaks. I don't like streaks. They make me kinda crazy. I was in a major rush though trying to get this ready between work and the concert. I am going to try it again when I have time to focus and take my time.

Ok, with that I am going to take some Nyquil and hopefully get rid of this sinus headache that is sitting right on my brow bone and behind my eye.

That's all for now :)

Its the Bisbee Remix

Hey Everyone!! I have a cold! Please do not get too close to the screen as I do not wish to infect you. I don't feel completely awful which is a great thing but I do feel sick. I am actually glad that I got this cold instead of the stupidness that I had last month with the sinus issues.

I spent a wonderful day on my couch yesterday watching the playoffs. HOW BOUT THEM GIANTS?! I am super excited that the Giants are going to the Super Bowl. They have become my second team since I met the bf so I am excited from that perspective but also because I was not really enjoying the prospect of dealing with a very cranky Giants fan if they lost. He made me do my nails in the same way as I had them for last week's game. It was really cute because I had a green BB Couture polish on and kept showing him my nails and then I mentioned oh my Sunday nails and he flipped out because they weren't ready for the game. He momentarily lost sanity because it was the first game that was starting and not the Giants game. I ended up finishing them right before game time so he was happy.

I have a better version of the mani in these pictures! I did ding my thumb finger and messed that one up but I rarely show my thumb so it was ok.

I love the subtle holo that you can see through the NY decal.

Ok today I have for you another post with Hare Bisbee. I wanted to see how this baby would look layered over different color polishes.

I love Bisbee.

I did two coats of Bisbee over skittles in different colors. I believe my thumbs had three because I used Jesse's Girl Blackout as the basecoat and it looked streaky with just two coats.

From Index finger to Pinky I used Revlon Expresso, Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue, Revlon Emerald and Revlon Golden as the bases. I used three coats over Golden as well.

I thought it was crazy how much the colors changed depending on the base. I probably should have expected it but for whatever reason I was still surprised lol.

My favorites were Bisbee over Emerald and Thinking of Blue.

It was interesting how you couldn't even tell that the base under my index finger was brown except for where I messed it up and some of it showed through.

I think I like Bisbee best by itself but it does look really nice layered over different colors as well.

I also discovered I didn't really dig the whole skittle mani. It bothered me that my nails didn't all match and weren't all the same color. I am not sure if it was just the colors I chose for the base or skittles in general. I am going to have to give it another try. I also realize tonight that I HATE T-mobile! I have phone issues and they are not very helpful. AT ALL!

That's all for now :)

It is Magic!

Hey Everyone! Tonight has been quite the night. I am getting this off late but at least I am getting it posted :) The bf and my father are on a 20 hour trip to North Florida and back to take some dogs up so they have been gone all day. The animals have been totally nuts! Bruce has been crazy tonight. He is the funniest thing. I was just talking to him and he plopped down on the ground. I said something to him and he opens and closes his mouth like he was talking back. So I said something else and he did the same thing. We repeated this a couple times before he got bored with me. He is such a silly cat. I was also showing my son his little trick. It isn't really a trick but it is funny anyway. I am an awful singer but when I sing Bruce comes over and gets in my face. It is the strangest thing. He doesn't do it EVERY time but he does it fairly regularly. I have no idea what that is about but it is really funny.

Our dear puppy friend was NOT having such a cute and funny night. We thought he was house broken but either he isn't or he is just being a jerk because he was crated today while we were at work. I have cleaned up three separate incidents. Sigh. Puppies! He goes to get neutered Monday and he meets the family on Wednesday. Fingers crossed that they love him and he can find his forever home with them.

Ok, I need to take a quick shower so I need to speed things up here. Today I have a gorgeous blue from the OPI Designer Series. DS Magic was released Fall 2010 and not quite what I think of when I think of OPI DS. Usually I think of the gorgeous holo polishes that make up most of the DS line but when I saw this one I knew holo or not I needed it.

Magic is more of a glass fleck polish and has a nice little duochrome to it. The polish is a gorgeous blue color with flashes of purple that you can see a bit of in the picture above.

I believe I used two coats and I believe I kept thinking I should have used three. You can see a bit of visible nail line especially in the pictures where the flash went off like the one above.

I tried very hard to get the purple flashes but it wasn't easy to capture on camera.

I took a TON of pictures of this polish. I really like it.

It is quite twinkly.

I love this blurred picture because you can see the polish twinkle.

I love blues and I love this shade of blue. I know that there are a couple other polishes that are close like Orly Lunar Eclipse.

I actually have that one so I am going to have to do a side by side comp at some point.

Ok now I have to go chase Bruce. He stole a graham cracker package from the top of the refrigerator.

That's all for now :)
