Anti Valentine

Hey Everyone!! Happy Valentine's Day to those that chose to fall into the over commercialized trap of it all. I kid, I kid. Seriously Happy Valentine's Day to those of you who celebrate it. I have mentioned that we don't really do anything. I did actually find cute and very corny printable Valentine's Day cards that the NY Giants have on their website and printed those out for C. They are lame and silly and I will probably get the whole "Valentine's Day doesn't exist to us remember" line but how could I not print out a card with something as corny as "Will you be my co-captain?" on it. I will stop and get T some candy and we will call it a regular Friday night. For those of you who don't celebrate Valentine's Day this mani is more geared toward you :)

I figured I would actually do a red mani this year but then I decided I had to go anti Valentine with it just to counteract the red.

I started with a base of the CND 2011 Red Hot Duo. Just Red is the creme color in the duo. It is a really nice polish that is somewhere in between a jelly and a creme. I actually love the formula on that polish even if it is red. I then applied one coat of Red Sparkle which is the glitter portion of the duo. Red Sparkle is a very fine red glitter in a clear base. I love that glitter, it reminds me of the fine sugar they sprinkle on sugar cookies at Christmas time.

Since that was just not enough sparkle I added a coat of Girly Bits Canuck the Dots which was made for Canada Day. They are back online and you can find the shop here. Canuck the Dots is in the On the Way Out section so if you are interested in it you should jump on it soon before it is retired. I love this combination of matte red and white glitter in various shapes and sizes. It is perfect for not only Canada Day but also Valentine's Day, July 4th (adding some blue of course) and Christmas. Yeah, I really didn't need all those reasons to buy it but they worked well as my excuses :)

For the stamping I went with skulls and broken and splattered hearts. Festive isn't it?

The skulls came from Mash plate Mash 26. I used whatever black polish I had sitting on the table for stamping. I think it was Wet N Wild.

I used Gals plate GA12 from the 2013 Princess set for the broken heart and Fab Ur Nails plate FUN12 for the splattered heart design.

I don't have a picture of Bruce today but I do have a new plate that I just got in the mail. I love Nail Mail! It is MJ jr 5 from the new jr plate collection. So cute!

That's all for now :)

My Snoopy Valentine

plate RuiZ02  girly bits auld langs wyne muted burgundy wine linear holo  BM-H17
Hey Everyone!!  I am getting a headache so I am going to make this brief. I do have a ton of pictures for you though :) I think this might be my favorite of the Valentine's Day manis that I have done this year. I love Snoopy though so it has a slight edge.

I started with a base of Girly Bits Auld Langs Wyne. I would link you to the shop but she it is currently in maintenance mode. You can buy Girly Bits from Llarowe though.

I used three coats of Auld Langs Wyne. It is a gorgeous muted burgundy wine color and it is holo! Omg the holo. Oh so holo. As you can see it is holo even in low light.

I made stamping decals with RuiZ02 for the Snoopy design. I had some issues with my top coat smearing which made me sad. I would have redone those nails but it was so late already and I was tired.

Some sun really brings out the holo. I used BM-H17 to make decals for the hearts. I would have stamped them straight on my nails but I didn't think I could line them up right.

I didn't top coat the mani until both of the stamping decals were placed on my nail so they would be on the same layer.

The light over my oven also makes the holo come out and play really nicely.

I love hearts and I love Snoopy and I really love holo so this mani made me quite happy!

My poor index finger nail broke and I had to nubbinize it. I am hoping it grows back soon. I think that in my mission to make a stamping book trying to get the plates out of the holder actually cut the nail.

Auld Langs Wyne is from the 2013 Holiday Collection. I picked this beauty up on a blog sale and oh my gosh it has made me want ALL of the holos.

It was probably better when I was attempting to ignore all the awesome new polishes coming out because I seriously can't stop looking for holos now.

That's all for now :)

Thanksgiving Manis

Hey Everyone!! Again!! I am wrapping up my fall manis so we can move into Winter manis. Today I am combining the last two of the week.

First up is my actual Thanksgiving mani.

I started with a base of Finger Paints Bare No Secrets then Oopsie Daisies Apple Picking on top.

I used various different colors for the stamping. I used Bundle Monster plates BM-H12 and BM-H13 for the stamping.

The Indian head piece came out better on this hand because I painted the feathers properly. I didn't realize that until much later.

My Pinterest turkey cake balls failed so I ended up with these.

Still cute.

Especially when I packed some in this little container.

My other Fall mani included Snoopy which I love.

I used a base of Elevation Polish Street Side, NYC on my middle and ring finger.

I used Girly Bits Black Eyed Susan on my index and pinky.

This is Street Side, NYC on it's own. Such a cool color.

I made a stamping decal with Bundle Monster Plate BM-H11 of the pumpkin and used China Glaze Riveting to fill the pumpkin in. I used my Snoopy Scarecrow waterslide decal from LuckyStarStyle to round out my Fall look.

That's all for now :)

Incredible Hulk Smash!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Tuesday. Somehow I missed Monday and didn't get a Blue Monday Mani posted. I suck. I had one but the pictures aren't edited and we had to run some errands last night then I was just way too tired. I haven't gotten much sleep since Saturday night and I am so exhausted. I ordered a coffee this morning and I think they forgot to add the coffee. I don't know how much cream they added but it is more than any person should ever use in their coffee. I of course didn't notice this until I was already at work and took the first sip. No bueno. It is borderline gross actually. I think that is about it for my buying coffee in the morning. I am going to have to suck it up and make it at home because apparently putting cream and splenda in a cup of coffee isn't something the people at Mc Donalds can handle.

Since I kinda took a little break there without even meaning to I have an Incredible mani for you today.

I used a base of Girly Bits Hulk Smash! I knew I needed this polish as soon as Pam announced it.

Hulk Smash is a gorgeous bright green jelly with purple shards and tiny micro glitter in it. It looks a lot darker in the bottle than it does on the nail.

Since I pretty much think I am 12 sometimes I stalked and stalked Llarowe until the FUN IP plates were stocked. This is FUN 11 and has an awesome assortment of cartoon characters. I knew I had to do an Incredible Hulk mani with the stamping plate and Hulk Smash. See, I told you this one was incredible ;)

I used three coats of Hulk Smash for this mani. I didn't use a base under it but you could change the color of Hulk Smash depending on what you put under it. I wanted to use the color as it was made but next time I might layer it over a green to give it a different look. I love versatile polishes.

I made an Incredible Hulk stamping decal then added one on each ring finger.

I used Essie Shake Your $$ Maker to color the Hulk in. I think it was the perfect Hulk color.

I LOVED THIS MANI! I am not a major comic book nerd but I do love my characters and didn't take this mani off for several days.

Now I want to do a ton of cartoon character manis. I need to do Iron Man! and the Sesame Street gang, Charlie Brown, Rainbow Brite...who am I kidding I need to do them ALL!  I absolutely love the images on the FUN IP stamping plates and they worked perfectly. I was worried the image would be too big for my nail but you can see Mr. Hulk fit nicely on my little nails.

I was excited to show this mani to the girl that does my hair because she is into the comics and all that stuff. She enjoyed my Hulk mani. Now I just need to win the lottery so I can buy ALL of the FUN IP stamping plates!

That's all for now :)

Here Today Gone Tomorrow

Hey Everyone!! I just noticed that when I am talking to someone on the computer, be it on a chat or email, when I insert a smiley icon I also smile at the computer. That must be interesting an interesting site to see someone type away then all the sudden smile weirdly at the computer for a second then return to a normal typing face. Anyway, today I spent most of the day at work getting packages together for various people and getting some Easter goods crocheted. I have so many crochet projects to do, some of which are for Easter, and so little time. My friend just had her baby (a week early) yesterday and I have part of her gift barely started. In my defense I was going to work on it all weekend to get it (hopefully) finished and mailed out next week. I should probably be babbling less so I can get to work on my projects lol.

Today I have a few awesome polishes to show you. This mani didn't exactly turn out the way I had planned and that was after my first attempt failed and I had to improvise.

I started with a base of Australis Here Today Gone Tomorrow. The color in the bottle in the picture above is completely inaccurate but I took the picture at night and it just wasn't working for me. I had my son standing next to me shining a flashlight on it. I know, I know, BAD BLOGGER! I need to get an OTT light I think. Here Today Gone Tomorrow is a gorgeous green jelly or crelly. I want to say it is a jelly but it was basically opaque in two coats which does not constitute complete jelly to me. I am not really sure which it is but the color is gorgeous.

I then used Girly Bits Monster Mash from the 2012 Halloween collection on my right hand. I LOVE Monster Mash for both the name and the awesome polish that it is.

I will have the song stuck in my head all night now! Monster Mash is a gorgeous green, gold and black glitter mix in a slightly green tinted base. It is really cool.

Unfortunately because Here Today Gone Tomorrow is so dark you couldn't really see the black glitter in this mani. I love the glitter you can see though.

Next time I am going to have to use Monster Mash on a lighter base.

In person you could see the black glitter better because Here Today Gone Tomorrow caught the light and was not as dark. I didn't have complete sunlight for these pictures though.

I really loved Monster Mash but I also wanted to try out another glitter I had in my green box. Since I am running out of time until St. Patrick's Day I decided to use one glitter on one hand and the other on my other hand.

This is Sation Class Clown. Class Clown is from the 2012 Class of Sation collection.

It looked decent over Here Today Gone Tomorrow but it mostly looks like a bunch of iridescent glitter. That isn't a bad thing but you loose the slightly tinted green base over the dark color.

It does look nice together though and I did enjoy the look.

If I was to choose I would have to say that Monster Mash over Here Today Gone Tomorrow was the much more exciting of the two manis. Now I have to find something better to try these glitters over.

I had also received some Artsyfartsycrafts glitter in the mail that I was so excited about I had to share. Check out those colors!!

I linked you to the facebook page because if you aren't a follower you should be! She has tons of awesome glitters and does all sorts of cute necklaces and hair clips and bows. I actually got these glitters when she had a destash clearance sale to make room for new stuff. I have my eye on some glow in the dark pigments and new mixes she has listed.

That's all for now :)
