Random Stuff

Hey Everyone!! I AM NOT A ZOMBIE!!! I am alive and still human lol. It is pretty hectic though so this week and next week are going to be crazy busy with the end of school and posting is going to be sporadic. I am going to try my best but there is tons of stuff going on. Today I had to work the warehouse job and then after work we went to the school for a dinner for the parents of the after school program. I am ready to get rid of the school year but not ready to deal with summer.

Today I have a bunch of random spam for you. We did a last minute little BBQ on Monday. Nothing big.

We made Kabobs for the grill. Can I just say that grilled pineapple is insanely awesome. I don't like pineapple but throw that stuff on the grill and I can not get enough of it.

This was an experiment. The longer we left it sitting the better it tasted lol

My crust came out a little too dark but my apple pie crumble was better this time than the last. I used the right apples this time lol. AND it is weight watcher approved :)

The kittens are getting big! This is the girl though we think she is actually a boy.

I could not get a picture of her with her eyes open if the flash was on. I have tons of pictures with her eyes closed lol.

She got tired and fell asleep in this position. It was pretty funny.

The boys is super cute and fluffy and BIG!

He was lounging.

Hanging out watching some tv.

I will have more manis and posts for you as soon as I have a break in the crazy!

That's all for now :)

Golf Socks

Hey Everyone! Last night was the last concert of the year for my son's school band. They played so well and he got to play with the jazz band too. It was a fun night but I am so tired today since it was a late night. I am going to make this a quick post because I still have to make dinner.

Today I have another Lacquistry polish for you. This was the one that caused me to order from Lacquistry in the first place. I saw this polish somewhere and of course HAD to have it! HAD TO!

Golf Socks!

I love LOVE LOVE this polish! I also love the labels, they are super cute and the little stone is a great touch.

I used two coats for this mani. I do have to say that because of the density of the glitter I needed to add a bunch of thinner to this bottle to get the polish to the consistency that I like working with. It was no big deal to me because I love the polish but I thought I would mention it.

I was taking pictures in my car on the way home from work. I wasn't driving don't worry. The sun was setting so some of these pictures are in funky lighting. I like the way they came out though.

Golf Socks has a deep navy dark blue jelly base filled with tons of orange-y gold glitter in it.

It looks a little patchy in some places but it didn't look that way in person. I believe it was mostly the flash picking it up. To save on using too much of the polish I might layer it over a navy blue next time.

Jenna has amazing customer service and I am hoping to catch her shop open again so I can get Golf Sweater to add to my collection. Well, Golf Sweater and several others.

I am loving the combination of dark blue and orange.

That's all for now :)

Sparkly Dots :)

Hey Everyone!! It is actually sunny out right now. I doubt it will last though. I think it has rained everyday for at least a week straight. I believe it might be a couple of days longer than a week. It was raining this morning when I came to work. I love rain but when I went to the drive thru for some coffee this morning the water was up to the bottom of my car. Any higher and it would have been coming in the doors. Not cute.

Today I have a review of a pair of polish earrings I bought from the lovely Denisa from Sparkly Dots :) she has a blog and an etsy store where you can see her gorgeous creations. When I first saw her earrings I knew I wanted a pair but I used them as a reward for my weight loss program. Let me just say it drove me crazy waiting to get the goal so I could order these earrings! They were the perfect reward and I love them!

The packaging is adorable. They arrived in this little bag with the cutest card attached. I didn't take a picture of the back but it says Thank You. I was very impressed with the details in packaging.

Inside the pouch is this cute little bundle. Those dots are so freakin cute and go perfectly with her cards and name. I thought that was the cutest touch and really made the packaging stand out.

I wasn't really sure how my earrings were going to be fit inside that cute little bundle but sure enough when I unraveled it there they were.

I worked with Denisa on the color scheme for these earrings. I had told her I wanted blue and green and she came back with a few ideas. I really liked the metallic green and the glittery blue and she made a gorgeous earring for me containing both those specific colors. I must say though, these earrings, even MORE gorgeous in person than they are in pictures. I couldn't not be happier with the way they came out.

Ok, my macro is kinda lame but here is a close up blurry picture of one. I can't even make good dots on my nails so I have NO IDEA how she can make the most perfect dots on these little earrings. I am AMAZED!

Please excuse my shiny white ear but I wanted to show you what they looked like on an ear. I always have trouble determining size of things online so I thought this would help show the size. I am used to wearing long dangling earrings so I was a little concerned these would be too short and wouldn't look right but they are perfect. They dangle just the right amount and I love the way they hang. I am always answering calls at work and it is the perfect length that they do not get in the way of the phone.

I am already planning on ordering another pair that is how much I love these earrings. The glass is a dome shape on these which makes the pattern stand out and give it a magnified look. The finding seems pretty sturdy and durable and I think it is the perfect size. I met Denisa in the nail polish community and she is a sweetheart with amazing dotting skills. She has some new designs coming out soon as well as several listings on her site. Sparkly Dots does ship from Ireland but I got my order fairly quickly.

That's all for now :)

Bobbing for Baubles in the Blue Moon Lagoon

Hey Everyone! Today I am going to show you lots of pictures from a mani I did awhile back. I am going to make it a quick post though. I have an order for 100 chocolates that need to be done so that is going to keep me busy for the next couple of weeks. Posts will probably be shorter due to that. My left eye is also acting up again so I have to constantly remind myself I need it and don't really want to claw it out. It is very annoying.

I had used Essie Bobbing for Baubles on my nails and it got a little dinged up so when I was bored at work I topped it with OPI Blue Moon Lagoon. I only did one coat of Blue Moon Lagoon because I am trying to hoard it but this mani probably needed two coats because you can see where it is uneven.

I love this polish!!!

Blue Moon Lagoon is pretty holo but when you couldn't see the rainbows it looked kinda milky and uneven over BfB.

It didn't look bad but it didn't look great either.

When the rainbows come out to play though it looks REALLY good.

Look how pretty the rainbows are! I can't believe this polish took so long to come up on my radar.

That's all for now :)

Iridescent Eye

Hey Everyone! Let's see if I can get this posted. I have been trying to write an email and it was deleted twice. I hate when the internet eats my stuff.

Today I have a polish for you from Jessica Cosmetics. This is my first Jessica polish though I wish I had ordered more. I still have never found this brand in the wild but hopefully one day I do because I would love to get more.

Jessica Iridescent Eye from their Peacock Queen collection.

This polish is said to be a dupe for Chanel's Peridot. I am too cheap to own Chanel but from the pictures I have seen online it is pretty much a dead on dupe.

Peridot is pretty much the only Chanel I have actually seriously considered purchasing so I am quite happy that the dupes have started to appear.

The changes this polish makes are insane. It looked different every time I looked down at my hand.

I wore this polish longer than I usually wear polish. I was sick and didn't feel like changing my polish so I kept this one on.

I think I had it on for a total of three days. I had no wear on it and was not tired of it yet which is a sure sign of a good polish in my book.

Did I mention it glows? I love how it looks in this picture. The polish has a very glowy look to it.

I used two coats of Iridescent Eye. The formula was great.

It was not overly brush strokey like I feared it would be. That made me very happy.

I took tons of pictures.

I am hungry.

I want to use this polish and stamp over it in black. I think t hat would look awesome. I don't have the plate with the design I have in mind though.

This polish is really awesome. I am kicking myself for not ordering more, especially the holo polish.

That's all for now :)

Lacquistry Gutter Snow

Hey Everyone!!! I hope those of you that are mothers had a very nice Mother's Day yesterday! I had a nice day. We went to see the Avengers and sat in that Dbox seat thing. It was crazy expensive but kinda cool since the movie was so action packed. For those of you that have NO CLUE what I am talking about Dbox is a seat that moves with the movie. So when the car crashes your seat jolts. It was almost constantly in motion for that movie. It was a neat experience. I would say it would be fun to do once with a great action movie but it isn't something I would pay that much to do again. I also had cake so that made me happy.

I had a hellish week at work last week so I didn't post much. Sorry about that but by the time I left in tears a couple of times I got home and didn't want to do anything but complain. I am still not feeling great about the work situation but I have to learn to deal with it because it is my job and I do need to work. The day dreaming about winning the lottery really picked up last week though. So

So today I have an Indie polish for you from the brand Lacquistry which can be purchased on Etsy. Right now her shop is closed but I was fortunate to have gotten a hold of the two polishes I did a few months ago. This is another one from my back log so my nails are longer in these pictures. I actually just had to file them down this weekend after a series of breaks. It wasn't a good week. lol.

Lacquistry Gutter Snow.

I absolutely love this polish.

I used three coats of Gutter Snow. As with most heavily glittery polishes this one needed thinner. I actually didn't thin it when I did this mani but I should have.

It was fairly easy to work with despite the thicker polish.

This polish very much strikes me as perfect for the name. It looks like it would be snow found in a gutter. This is of course coming from a Florida girl so I don't have a lot of experience with gutter snow lol. I did live in Michigan for a year and I have seen dirty snow before but I am no snow expert.

I love the way this baby sparkles!

I had actually ordered another polish instead of this one from Lacquistry however Jenna contacted me because there was an issue with the polish I had originally ordered. She wanted to let me know that she had a report of an issue with the glitter tinting the base. She was extremely nice to talk to and offered me the option to switch my order. I ended up switching the order because I also was dying to get this one and it just made the choice easier if the other one had an issue. She was super sweet and I thought the customer service was great.

I need to catch her when the shop is open because there are a few other polishes I really want from her store.

I spent a lot of time staring at this mani lol.

That's all for now :)
