China Glaze Love Marilyn

Hey Everyone! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I had to get up too early and go to the bank for something that I didn't really need to do. BOOOO!!!! I got to see the dogs at the kennel when I stopped by to bring the bf a bagel though so that was fun. Been working on a scarf and some other projects. That is about the extent of my Saturday lol. Not too exciting.

This morning I did my nails real quick before the bank. I intended on a totally different mani but I couldn't find the red striper so I used the white striper and made candy canes! It is the first holiday mani of the season and it is SPARKLY!!!!

I used China Glaze Love Marilyn from the Eye Candy collection. I got this one on a whim from the little dusty beauty supply store I frequent. I wasn't really wanting this one or OPI Gettin' Piggy with It or Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Cha-Ching which all look similar to me. I am not big on reds BUT it looked so holiday to me that I caved. I do that alot!

I used two coats then painted on the white stripes. They were free handed so yeah, not even close to being straight and even. I then added a light coat over that to make it super sparkly and hide the imperfections in the stripes lol.

This mani is VERY sparkly. I love love love it. Even the bf who doesn't like glitter said it was good. Love the sparkles.

It also reminds me of wrapping paper for some reason. If you look closely there are spots where the nail isn't really covered. I have seen other swatches where three coats are opaque. I actually really liked it when it was thin with only one coat. It reminded me of sprinkles on Christmas cookies.

I very much like this polish. I only used one coat of SV so it is not really smooth. I am guessing a coat of Gelous would probably help that but I was in a hurry. It is not so awful I can't stand it but it is not smooth at all.

I have a mani idea that includes this and OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air. I am looking forward to trying that.

While I was taking these pictures Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior was peeking around the corner lol. He is so funny.

Well back to crocheting. :)

That's all for now :)

  6. What a fun mani! Good idea to add more glitter after the stripes--it's hard to go wrong with more glitter!
