Hypnose Stars

Hey Everyone!!! It is Monday, a day which I usually don't enjoy much. The awesome Mihaela over at Lacquer Buzz has finally convinced me to join the Monday Blues. I figure since I don't like Mondays much anyway this would be a fun way to celebrate when Monday morning rolls around. I also LOVE blue and have tons of blue polishes which helped convince me. I am apparently under attack this lovely Monday morning. I have already seen one very large, two semi large and a very small waterbug type creature running around on my desk. I really HATE when they take over my desk like they own it. They seem immune to the bug spray we use too. I feel icky now. 

Today I have another one of the awesome Jade Holografico polishes for you. I think Hypnose is one of the ones that really convinced me that I needed the Jade holos. I love the color and it is so very holo.

I used PUEEN44 from the Pueen Love Elements set for the star stamping. I stamped with Sinful Colors white striping polish.

I got a small chip in my index finger before I was able to get the sun to come out so I could take pictures. I have decided I give up on the treatment as a base coat. It causes too many chips far too fast for my liking.

I did this mani as a pre July 4th festive mani. I love the stars. I have tons of ideas for using that design again.

I used three coats of Hypnose. I have taken up using three coats for most polishes so I can make sure that the pictures come out good. I could have probably gotten away with just two coats though.

As usual I didn't get pictures of the awesome holo rainbows. The sun and I do not get along when I wear holos. As you can see it was bright out in the photos but the sun wasn't actually fully out. I have no idea how the sun knows when I have holos on but it sure does know to hide itself.

I am apparently in a holo phase right now. I keep reaching for my holos when I am looking for the next polish to wear.

July 4th Festive

Hey Everyone!! I finally have my July 4th mani ready for posting and I figured I wasn't doing anything else exciting so I mind as well get it up for ya. I actually really loved the flag mani this year and was pretty decently satisfied with the other hand. I was way too tired to finish the other hand in flags so I decided to just  do some festive red, white and blue designs.

I used Sinful Colors Hot Hot Heat, Snow me White and Wet N Wild Cabo Cruise.

Cabo Cruise is over white for the flag mani. I used a base of Snow me White and then striping tape to do the red stripes.

For my other hand I used the same polishes. I used Artsyfartsy Crafts glitter squares for the index finger flag. I placed them on the nail with a dotting tool.

I used my new Cheeky Jumbo plate Wild at Heart for the middle finger. Cabo Cruise stamped very very lightly which surprised me a bit.

For the ring finger I used some craft glitter in blue, red and white though you can't see the white at all. I used my July 4th franken for my pinkie. None of the stars decided to come out and play on that nail but they were on my thumbs which matched my pinkie. I didn't take a picture of them sadly.

I was really excited about the way it came out this year.

We didn't really do much else for the 4th but cook and eat. I didn't even see fireworks and it did rain for awhile. I enjoyed the day though.

I made another flag cake for my son since he missed out on the first one so I have pictures of that for you.

Plain white on the outside but on the party is on the inside of this huge cake.

An American flag!!! It still didn't come out perfect and I don't think I will be making this one again but it was pretty cool.

It was also really yummy.

Bruce was sitting at the table waiting for his piece of cake.

Patriotic Mani

Hey Everyone!!! I those of you who celebrate had a Happy July 4th and those of you who didn't I hope you had a Happy Thursday :) My son came home for the day and I made another flag cake and we hung out and watched the Back to the Future marathon. It was a good day overall but then he went back to his dad's which I hated. I will have pictures of the cake and the actual 4th of July mani tomorrow since I didn't get to edit the pictures. We are fostering one of the greyhounds from the kennel and he did NOT enjoy the fireworks last night. Poor guy, he was freaking out. We also lost power in the middle of the night which was not fun and woke/kept me up for a bit. Luckily it wasn't out too long so it didn't get too hot.

This was one of my pre July 4th manis.

I saw this Wet N Wild Fergie polish in the new display a couple of weeks ago and HAD to have it. I love not only the color but the shimmer in it. It is called Cabo Cruise and I hate the brush but the color is pretty.

I also used Sinful Colors Hot Hot Heat which I believe is a core color. 

This is Hot Hot Heat by itself. I didn't decorate my thumbs. I usually don't just because I am lazy.

I used these awesome 2mm Diamond Glitter in Silver Holo from Artsyfartsy Crafts 

I did a basic tape mani with Cabo Cruise and Hot Hot Heat then placed the diamonds along the line.

I had some issues keeping the diamonds going in a straight line but I had wet nails and couldn't get my dotting tool out. I was using a wood stick to pick up and place the glitter and it wasn't being as cooperative as I would have liked.

I really love this mani though. I couldn't get the diamonds to show their awesomeness on camera but they are really cool looking and sooo shiny.

This mani reminds me of super heros for some reason. I don't know what super hero or why but it does. I kept thinking of Wonder Woman and Captain America and all the Marvel super heros. 

I love those diamonds. I lost one on my ring finger because it hung off the edge of my nail a little too much. I tried cutting it down but I didn't get it close enough I guess. The rest of them stayed put nicely.

I actually really liked Hot Hot Heat too. I am not really into reds and I am not sure how I would have felt with a whole red mani but I am loving the shade and finish on it.

Red Bubbles

Hey Everyone!! Oy, this was supposed to post yesterday but apparently that never happened. Oops. Sorry about that.

Well, yesterday at work I finally got a new computer. The good news is that it is faster and better but the bad news is that a lot of my stuff and settings didn't transfer over. It was a long day of trying to figure out what I had and what I didn't. I then realized that when I pull up blogger at work the pictures look short and fat compared to what they should look like. I posted from home last night because I was so confused and didn't know if I did something to the pictures or if it was this computer. My Jade bottle in the picture below looks incredibly weird but I think it looks normal on all other computers so I am just going to post from here. If it looks funky let me know and I will try and figure out what is going on. 

I figured I had to show this mani now, before football season, because it reminds me of Florida State colors and I can NOT wear FSU colors. It really drove me nuts the entire time I wore it because it reminded me of FSU and mildly of the Washington Redskins. I also happened to wear this for the final game of the NBA Championship and it rather pissed me off because the Heat won and I had red in my nails. Yes, I am THAT weird about sports.

I started off with Jade Holografico in Mystic Gold. I bought this from Brazil but it can be purchased from Llarowe as well.

I used Pueen plate Pueen36 for the stamping design. This plate is from the Pueen 24-E Love Elements set

I used Sinful Colors Georgio for the stamping.

Jade holo polishes are some of my favorite holo polishes. Super easy to use with no need for a special basecoat. I used my regular top coat and they are still very holo.

My only complaints about the Jade holos is that they aren't more readily available and the bottles are only 8ml. I know that I have never used a whole bottle of polish and 8ml is still pretty decent but I am always afraid I will use it all and run out.

Georgio stamped very well and came out much more red than it looks in the bottle. It was a pleasant surprise because it ended up being the exact shade I wanted.

My pictures didn't even capture all the holo that this polish shows.

I absolutely love this stamping pattern and can think of so many different ways to use it. I am really loving the Pueen stamping plates and of course now want the other set as well.

I really hope these pictures don't look as weird on everyone else's computer as they do on mine.

I may have taken way too many pictures of this mani.

It was actually sunny enough for me to take pictures which I appreciate. The last two holo manis I wore didn't fare so well. One I have to redo because it poured and I was only able to get one picture of the polish in the sun and the other one I wore an extra day even with a chip because I needed some pictures with some sunlight. The sun seems to know when I wear a holo and does it's best to hide those days.

I just realized that I love this mani and it uses two colors that I very rarely wear. Maybe I should give these colors more attention.

Abalone Shell Mermaid Scales

Hey Everyone! It is Monday, again, but at least it is a short week. I need to do my nails tonight but I really don't know what to do. I did do a cute mani over the weekend and I worked on some polish jewelry but I am still not overly excited about much. 

I started this mani with a base of Sinful Colors Into the Blue. You can find Into the Blue in the Sinful Colors Sail la Vie Collection. 

I thought Into the Blue would make a great base coat for Nail Sauce Abalone Shell. 

Abalone Shell is really pretty and I have the lovely Stephanie from At Peace with Polish  to thank for this one. I had won this one from a giveaway Stephanie was hosting. It is a gorgeous polish and so pretty layered over Into the Blue.

The combination made me think of mermaid tails so I used plate GA14 from the Gals Princess plate set to make scales. I used white polish for the stamping.

I don't know how mermaid like this mani looks but it was definitely very pretty.

I want to try Abalone Shell over all the colors now.

I should probably also try it on it's own.

I love the soft gold duochrome shift that this pretty blue shimmer shows off at the right angle.

Over the dark blue it looks like there is some green flashing in there. It is a really pretty effect.

I also liked how Abalone Shell made my nails look more green than blue. Pretty cool considering both polishes are blue.

I would have done the stamping in a different color had I thought about it. Probably something to bring out the scale look more. Overall I still loved this look.

I don't own any other Nail Sauce polishes but the brand is definitely on my radar now. Thank you Stephanie for introducing me to this brand!
