Dulcie's Fairy Slap

Hey Everyone!! I took today off to hang out with T since he didn't have school. We went out and ran some errands and had lunch where we ran into an unexpected guest. Apparently a duck wanted to have lunch with us, or maybe he wanted our lunch. I wasn't able to get today's post up earlier but definitely wanted to get it up today. Since it is Indie week I thought I would start off with this awesome Indie I recently received as a prize for an awesome Giveaway.

I recently entered a giveaway on the blog Oh Three Oh Four and I was actually the winner. SQUEE. I was so excited. The prize was an awesome collaboration polish from Silly Bee's Chickadees and Dulcie from Oh Three Oh Four. Silly Bee's Chickadees collaborated with 5 bloggers to create the holiday Gift of Melly Collection. The polishes were inspired by the bloggers' favorite scene from their favorite Christmas movie and 20% of the sales were donated to the blogger's favorite charity. Super cool event and collection.

The prize arrived and I was super excited. Along with the gorgeous polish was two yummy flavored Chapsticks. Thank you so much Dulcie!!!

Dulcie's Fairy Slap was inspired by a scene in the movie Scrooged. I think I may have seen the movie long ago but I can't remember it so I am going to have to rewatch it.

This is the first Silly Bee's Chickadees polish I have tried and I am quite impressed.

I used two coats of Dulcie's Fairy Slap over three coats of China Glaze Go Go Pink.

I thought the soft pink would make a great base for those awesome holo dots.

Dulcie's Fairy Slap is a clear base polish with holo pink dots, holo stars, holo shredded glitter and micro glitter in white and silver. This polish is so sparkly and pretty.

You can see how awesome those large dots are. I love the dots and the stars and shards and everything. It is sparkly and awesome.

This polish was a little on the thick side so I would recommend using some thinner. I should have used some after a couple of nails but decided to just use it as it is. There was no major issue it was just thicker than I prefer working with.

I took a ton of pictures of this polish because it was so pretty.

Very sparkly both in the sun and in lower lighting.

I want to try this over all of the other colors now. I did use two coats of top coat to make sure all the glitters were secure and flat.

I am really impressed with Silly Bee's Chickadees and will definitely have to try more of these polishes in the near future.

Dulcie's Fairy Slap is still available in the Etsy shop and I can definitely recommend it.

I can also definitely recommend Dulcie's blog Oh Three Oh Four. I love her blog and you need to go follow her now. I can wait while you go over there and check it out :)

Don't mind my nails, they look funny at certain angles because of the gel mani base and the amount of coats I used on this mani.

Thank you again for this awesome giveaway Dulcie :)

That's all for now :)

I won a giveaway and Parka Perfect.

Hey Everyone!!! Omg what a Monday it has been and it is only 11:05. Apparently my phone did something stupid last night and the alarm didn't go off. T had to come wake me up at 6:42 asking why I hadn't woken him up for school yet. My phone wouldn't turn on and the red light that comes on when it is being charged was lit up. It was non responsive to anything but taking the battery out We have no idea what happened. It may have not been plugged into the wall completely but the phone was in a weird frozen state of not wanting to turn on. I was too tired when I got back from dropping him off so I didn't try out the new exercise bike. I didn't want to get up for work either. It threw everything off not having that shower to wake me up before taking him to school. Then when I was getting ready to leave C couldn't locate his wallet which could have been a major issue. He found it in the laundry. I stopped by CVS to get a drink and that took longer than expected so I was late to work. When I got to work our container arrived and the moron driver parked it so crooked that I can't park in my normal spot. The warehouse guy was trying to convince me I fit but I didn't feel comfortable parking there. Instead of actually telling me I needed to not park at the other space he didn't so when the delivery of stuff just arrived guess who had to go and move her car? Yup I had to squeeze it in between my boss' car and the truck anyway.

Today I have a mani for you and some pictures from an awesome giveaway I recently won. THANK YOU TAMMY!!! Not too long ago The Canadian Nail Fanatic held a giveaway and I was totally surprised and stoked to find out I won it! I was so excited. If you aren't already a follower go over there and follow, you won't regret it! Tammy does AMAZING stamping manis and is a sweetheart! I always check out her blog for stamping inspiration and if I ever want to see what a plate looks like I check her blog to see if she has used it. Seriously, follow her! I actually pulled her blog up to get the link and realized I wasn't yet following her on Instagram so I had to do that before posting.

The giveaway was back in November and it was for 3 Dashica plates of your choice and two Sally Hansen Nail Prisms. I was super stoked at the prospect of getting the plates alone but the Nail Prisms were unicorns I never attempted to hunt down because I thought it would be impossible to find. I was crazy excited to win. This is what actually came in the package, Tammy snuck some extra goodies in there as well as the plates and polishes.

Some cute nail decals and a plastic scraper. I have been wanting to try out a plastic scraper so that is way cool. Those decals are super cute too. I love hearts.

Not only did she send the nail prisms but also a cute W7 glitter too!

I had picked Dash55 because of the cat images. I need to do cat manis! It is a need!

I loved the rain clouds and that star pattern on Dash54. I love rain.

Dash8 has that heart pattern that I could not resist. I think the flowers are super cute too but those hearts won me over.

There was also some tea, chocolate and that cute little gingerbread man. Super awesome prize package! Thank you so much Tammy!!! I love your blog and I loved this prize so much!

I of course had to use the plates asap. I had picked up Essie Parka Perfect from their 2013 Winter collection when I had some extrabucks at CVS. I figured it would be perfect to use with the rain on Dash54. When I pulled out the plates I was struck by the swirly pattern on Dash55 and used it instead.

I used three coats of Parka Perfect and three coats of Essie Chinchilly on my ring finger. Parka Perfect has a really pretty shimmer to it in the bottle but it is pretty hidden on the nail. That was slightly disappointing but the color is so pretty it makes up for it. I am not a huge fan of Essie because most of the polish I find streaky and thin and difficult to apply. Chinchilly was fine but Parka Perfect started out with that same thin and streaky consistency I am not fond of. It ended up being ok but I did need the three coats to make sure it was even.

When I started stamping I was a little concerned that neither polish would stamp well enough to be seen on the other color. I was really surprised and thrilled with how well the stamping came out.

Chinchilly I thought would stamp decently because it is a little thicker and darker. It worked very nicely. Parka Perfect actually stamped really well and shows up very nicely over Chinchilly. I am still surprised this worked out so well. I am loving the Dash plate as well. The image is crisp and clear and so pretty. I can't wait to try the other designs out.

I didn't get a lot of pictures of this mani unfortunately. It was really very pretty. I was kind of reminded of drapes or a very pretty couch. I love these colors together.

I want to say another big thank you to Tammy over at Canadian Nail Fanatic! Also if you want to go check out the Dash plates you can see the website here. There is a new line of Infinity plates that they just released recently too. Now that I have tried these babies I am going to have to get more. They are great little plates with super cute designs.

That's all for now :)

Someone's Getting a Skyscraper!

Hey Everyone!!! I decided to snag an extra China Glaze Skyscraper when I found the collection for swap or giveaway. Well, I thought about it for a minute and decided I wanted to give it away to one of my awesome readers!!! My little blog is growing and getting more followers which is so exciting. I really love the comments and interacting with you all so I wanted to use Skyscraper as a THANK YOU for following and commenting. What I decided to do was to make a list of all the comments I received from June 10, 2011 through July 11, 2011 and do a drawing based on those comments.

I did this one the old fashioned way, I wrote it and picked a slip out of a mug. Ok, old fashioned would have been picking from a hat but I have this cool mug that happened to be sitting next to me so I went with it.

Here is the list :) Thank you all for your awesome comments. We had 45 entries. YAY! You can't read them because I used a stupid pink gel pen that is annoyingly bright but trust me, your name is there.

I cut out the strips and folded them in half four times (for those of you that care) and threw them in the mug :)

The bf was not excited about drawing a name for me. My son was less excited saying I guess I have to then. In the end the bf picked the winner. Such a punk.

AND THE WINNER IS......

DENISE!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Denise!!!!!!! The prize, if you chose to accept it, is a brand new bottle of China Glaze Skyscraper. :) If you chose not to accept it I will draw another name :)

If you want to know the boring details and breakdown on the entries you can look below, if not

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

You all are probably a wee bit confused. When I started this blog I didn't expect to have more than a couple of my friends as followers. I am so happy to have 27 of you all following my little blog. From the beginning I had thought about doing giveaways and such and recently I had wanted to try my hand at one. The thing is that I honestly don't want a billion followers following me just because I have giveaways because that is not really what the blog is about to me. Followers are great and I really enjoy you all and your comments and I wanted to thank you for being here so I put together this little giveaway I just didn't really announce it was going to happen. It is the first of hopefully more to come.

Since I love to interact with you and I love your comments I did this giveaway based on comments that were posted from May 1, 2011 up until June 8th at about 3pm. Basically I put all the names and comment dates on a spreadsheet like so...

There were 27 comments YAY! I love your comments and always try to respond to them as quick as possible. I actually have a mani coming up with Can't Cheat on Me used for stamping since a couple of you thought it would stamp well. Well I actually had done a mani already but it was the one ruined over the weekend before I had taken pictures. Anyway, I used Random.org to chose a random number between 1-27.

And the winner is (drum roll please) #1... SILKE!!!!!!!
I thought it was so fitting that the first commenter won the first giveaway!! I am also amazed because random.org always seems to pick numbers around 18 when I have it pick my mani so I am happy to know that it knows other numbers as well lol.

And now onto the prize!!!!

A bottle of Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Barracuda, a jar of LA Colors Nail Polish Remover pads and a bracelet (made by me)!

I will be emailing you Silke to let you know that you are the first giveaway winner! Congratulations!

Thank you all for following and commenting on my little blog. I really enjoy blogging and love that I have great followers who take the time to come here. Sorry if I am long winded sometimes, I actually don't talk much at work since I only have three co workers and I don't have much to say to them so when I come here I have usually spent most of the day not talking.

That's all for now :)
