Dragon Scales

Hey Everyone!!! Yesterday I got it in my head that I wanted to make some polish jewelry pieces. I pretty much spent the day thinking up designs and being very antsy to get started. I only was able to start one piece being that I was at work and by the time I got home I was tired and not feeling well. Apparently I am going to make the pieces I planned out because I am ready to work on them! I always get these crazy ideas I feel I must do and then I work and work on them. Sometimes I actually finish them and sometimes I don't. I have a problem with not finishing projects too.

Today I have the finish of the mani I showed you last week. I started with a base of Catrice Enter the Undergrowth and Darling Diva Pendragon. I turned that mani into a dragon mani.

I used GALS stamping plate GA14 and Konad black stamping polish. I thought this image would give it a scale like appearance.

I used Matte Top Coat to give it a matte effect. I love matte top coat over glitter.

I love this mani. I love the colors and with the stamping I can totally see dragon scales.

My stamping did get a little bit smeared by the top coat but I think it was mostly my fault. It didn't happen on every nail. I really need to get better at top coating stamping.

I love this mani. I love Pendragon and had it on my wishlist for a really long time before I finally pulled the trigger. I am so happy that I did.

I was also thinking this color combination would make a nice camo mani. I might have to try that at some point later on.

That's all for now :)

Pendragon Enters the Undergrowth

Hey Everyone!!! Happy Friday!!! I have a quick post for you today. I forgot to upload more pictures so this one will be short. I should be able to catch up this weekend so I have some posts ready to go. Generally I edit the pictures and get them ready then all I have to do is write the post up on the day that I am posting. It has been a little hectic this week so I wasn't able to edit more pictures. I will get caught up someday.

Today's mani is the base for a grand mani idea I had.

I used Darling Diva Pendragon and Catrice Enter the Undergrowth from the 2011 Papagena Collection. This Catrice collection had a matte rubberize type of cap with lettering on it. Unfortunately for some odd reason the caps on my polishes from this collection got very gummy and sticky. I used some Goo Gone to try and get rid of the stickiness and it took off most of the lettering with it.

I used two coats of Enter the Undergrowth as a base.

I used one coat of Pendragon however I wanted more glitter. Instead of polishing it on I applied another coat with a makeup sponge. This saved me from having to do several coats and having a thick mani yet still gave me a nice amount of glitter. This mani was so blingy and shiny.

I will show you what the final look of this mani was in my next post ;)

That's all for now :)

Houston's Favorite and My Milkyway

Hey Everyone!!! I have a killer inflamed cuticle and now the same finger has what is almost like a cramp in it. It hurts to bend it and is quite annoying. Can I just say Neosporin with the pain relief magic in it is AH MAZ ING! I slathered some of this miracle stuff on and my cuticle no longer hurts :) I think I had gotten some of the tomato sauce from dinner in it and it was burning but after a little bit of Neosporin I forget it was even there. My cuticles are revolting right now and I have three very unhappy fingers. They did get me out of doing the dishes though lol. I am not sure what I did to anger them but boy oh boy they are enraged.

I am feeling quite chipper tonight since today was my LAST dentist appointment. I have another cleaning coming up but as far as the dental work is concerned I am finally DONE!!! I am doing a happy dance. Unfortunately the bf now gets to go be tortured. There is always something going on here.

I am quite excited about a giveaway that I am going to have coming up too. More details on that will be coming soon :)

This post is going to be a bit short and basic because my darling son is trying my patience with his current event that is due tomorrow. Yup, he once again waited until the last minute and then wrote a horribly incoherent sad excuse of a paragraph. He has rewritten it three times already and it still makes no sense. I was a mega nerd and quite the long winded writer (I guess that hasn't changed much) so homework was never an issue. I was blessed with a child that hates school, will do anything to avoid homework and would be completely elated if he could get away with sentences that consisted of two words. He is exhausting.

Today I have a gorgeous polish for you from the Catrice Out of Space Limited Edition collection released earlier this year. Houston's Favorite is a gorgeous teal with awesome shimmer and is slightly duochrome. Very slightly. It is really stunning and I loved it immediately.

Catrice My Milkyway according to Catrice is a Color Changing Top Coat. I have yet to use it as a full top coat but it looked amazing when I used it to add dots to this manicure. It has a pink, purple shimmer.

One of the best things about Houston's Favorite is that it was ONE coat. I used a thick coat but still one coat is awesome.

I was excited to use my new dotting tool and can't wait to do more dot manis.

Such a pretty polish! I spent a lot of time looking at my nails.

These first pictures are with flash because it was storming.

I couldn't get the sun to come out much and when it did I wasn't able to go out and take pictures.

These next pictures are in regular lighting. It was not incredibly sunny but I was able to get a couple pictures without flash.

I love the dots but I am not sure how well I will like My Milkyway as a top coat.

I haven't done pictures of fuzzies in awhile so I have a few for you today. I will have more soon I just have to upload them and stuff. This is Twiggy. She is gorgeous. She was our house guest for a few hours. She posed for me.

I have been wanting to get Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior one of those kitty towers but they are sooo expensive. We took some boxes and cut holes in them so he had something to play in. He likes them! He was hanging out in his box falling asleep when I snapped this picture.

It woke him up a bit. He is getting so big now. He goes for his neutering on Friday. He is not going to be a happy camper. He hates Dr. Henry with a passion. I am guessing those feelings will be intensified after Friday's visit.

That's all for now :)

Beam Me Scotty

Hey Everyone!!! HAPPY FRIDAY! I took today off of work to run some errands so it is a nice long weekend to end summer vacation. We have some more loose ends to tie up before the kids start school Monday but I am definitely ready for the summer to be over.

Today I have for you an awesome Limited Edition Catrice polish from the Out of Space Collection. I have to go finish getting dinner stuff ready so this will be all about the pictures.

Catrice Beam Me Scotty.

I only used ONE coat of this baby. I dinged my index finger as you can see.

The coverage was great and so was the formula. I NEVER use just one coat unless I know I am stamping or layering over it.

I did this mani after taking night time cold medicine so I had some cuticle drag but I was literally falling asleep as I was painting.

This dried with an almost suede finish and without the top coat it would not be super shiny.

Last but not least I have a Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior picture for you :)

That's all for now :)

Catrice Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans

Hey Everyone! I am going to make this a short one because I am tired, my head is foggy and I am feeling icky. I am super excited over my nail mail still and want to see if I can at least do my nails before bed. It is looking more and more like I am going to skip tonight's mani but we will see. I have to take some more medicine. I actually wish this cold would just come already and I would have the sneezing, coughing cold stuff instead of a congested foggy head.

This is the amazing Catrice Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans which I have heard is being discontinued. It is a gorgeous denim dark blue with blue micro glitter shimmer. Unfortunately the shimmer you see in the bottle doesn't translate as strongly on the nail. You can see it in certain lighting but it isn't as WOW as it is in the bottle.

Please excuse the cleanup this was before I realized that I wasn't using pure acetone for cleanup. DUH.

This one is very similar to Essence Underwater only the shimmer on this one stands out more. I will do a comparison for you of the two side by side soon.

You can see a little of the shimmer in this picture. I promise you in person you can see it, just not really strongly.

Pretty color and I am so glad I have this in my collection.

This is with super bright wash out the color flash.

I have a picture of Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior for you today! He amazingly enough enjoys getting on the railing and sitting on the towel. I have no idea how he balances up there but he does it!

That's all for now :)

Miracle Heaven

Today I have for you wonderful people Catrice Miracle Heaven. It was another polish from the box o goodies and I have been wanting to see this one on my nails since I laid eyes on it. I LOVE this color. My favorite color is blue and this is BLUE! It reminds me of shiny spandex like superheros wear. Maybe Superman or Wonder Woman type stuff. I LUFF it!

Miracle Heaven is on the right in the picture above. Can I just say I LOVE the cap! So cute! I would have bought all the colors in this collection just because I liked the bottle. Thank goodness they are not readily available to me lol. It is from the Enter Wonderland collection and I just realized I totally didn't get the butterfly in the picture. duh. These bottles are a little smaller than a regular Catrice as you can see. I didn't actually look at the size difference but I will check it out later.

It is really pretty! I used three coats because I messed up a couple of nails and needed to fix some spots. I probably should stop doing my nails with rescue kitty running all over the bed and bouncing here and there.

These were taken in indirect lighting in my car. The sunlight washed out the color and made it totally color inaccurate. It is a smidge darker than it appears especially now in my office lighting.

I actually found the first coat to be pretty uneven and streaky. Two coats would have evened it out had I been paying more attention to the polish than the adorable cat.

It is a little streaky but that could be because of my application. I was wondering what happened this morning when I noticed tipwear but I think I just solved that mystery. I have always heard about SV causing shrinkage and by George I believe I have my first experience. I did this before bed so there is no other reason I would have tip wear. DUH I forgot to wrap my tips.

Can you tell I love this color? That is my hand next to my car! Yup, my car is very similar to this color. The car is actually a bit lighter than the polish. I also have a cool pair of Kangaroo Sneakers that are this color AND I had bought a pair of colored contacts that were this color. (the contacts didn't last long since they weren't prescribed and I bought them online and they were totally uncomfortable) I have had my hair blue but haven't managed to get this specific color yet. lol

That's all for now :)

Do You Have Your Pool Party at Night?

It's already Monday and it feels like I didn't have a moment of rest yet. My son has a cold and was freaking out thinking he has Strep Throat. He will go into a panic thinking he has to get the Strep test swab done every time he feels sick. It's a simple q-tip like thing to the back of the throat but if you talk to him you would think it involves some sort of surgical procedure. He was feeling better yesterday but this morning his throat was bothering him again. I am pretty sure it is post nasal drip related to the cold but the boy isn't so sure. The big news is that for Mother's Day I got a HELMER!! I am so excited and can't wait to put it together and get my polishes in there :) Not only will it be fun but I am pretty sure I have a carpet somewhere under all my stuff and I might actually be able to see it again.

I am definitely ready for a pool party, it is HOT! I was just outside in a black Tshirt in the sun and about died from the heat. The dogs at the kennel had a pool party Saturday. They set out two kiddie pools for the dogs to play in and it was quite a scene. Some of them loved it and some of them hated it but it was fun to watch them splash and try to get tennis balls out of the water. Catrice has their Pool Party at Night!

Pool Party at Night is on the left in the picture above. This picture is totally not color accurate. I didn't notice it before but it is the only picture I have with me right now. The color is actually closer to the pictures below but there seems to be more of a purple leaning in real life. It is not really purple but there is a lean toward it.

This has got to be the most awful mani ever. I totally messed up the clean up on my left hand and it was quite bad. I decided to see what the whole moon thing would look like but didn't get that right either. Since I am at work and don't have the polish with me I just left it as is. Looks crazy, I know. I am not sure if I like it or not but I definitely don't HATE it completely.

So of course on the right hand I totally messed up the middle finger the same way. I tried the same with this finger and it didn't work at all lol. I figured rather than have half my polish off I would use the only polish I have here Sally Hansen Insta Dri Jumpin Jade and a piece of tape. I am ready to take this off NOW!

I used two coats for this mani. Honestly if I was better I could have used one but I made some mistakes that needed touching up. I also put a couple drops of thinner in it because while it wasn't really thick it was not thin enough for my liking. I find it easier to work with thinner polishes right now.

The color is gorgeous though. Inside at my desk I am undecided as to if it is a blurple or plue (lol I meant to write blue but I left it because now I like the word plue).

This was the Mother's Day cake I got for my mommy. Haagan Dazs Belgium Chocolate Chocolate and Midnight Cookies and Cream Cookie Crunch Cake. Can you say chocolate heaven???

That's all for now :)
