Not Quite Stellar Manis

Hey Everyone!!!! It was an awful football weekend and I am watching Monday Night Football which has me torn. I hate the Miami Dolphins but I also hate the NY Jets so either way this game is going to annoy me. It should be fun.

Today I have two manis for you because I didn't really think either were good enough to post. I figure if I give you two ehhh manis it might equal one not awful mani. I also have a Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior picture to make up for the sub par manis.

That is Bruce attacking Newey. You can see she had a hair cut and has no bear hair anymore. She looks silly but cute at the same time.

Ok, I tried to do a fall/Halloween mani. I used China Glaze Westside Warrior as the base and Fantasy Makers Glow in the Dark, Orly It's not Rocket Science and Del Sol Trick or Treat for the dots.

It wasn't awful but not great either.

Then there was the right hand that totally got messed up when I went to sleep? I assume this happened while I slept because it was fine before I went to sleep. It should have been dry and my left hand was fine so I have no idea.

It didn't look too nice though.

Then there is my Zombie Mani. I used plate M13. The bf said they look like dolls not zombies. I said they were zombie dolls.

I used three coats of Orly It's Not Rocket Science as the base and Jesse's Girl Blackout for the zombies. You can barely see them. I tried stamping in a lighter color on my pinkie but it didn't do much so I didn't proceed with all fingers.

Fail. No Zombies visible.

I will have to try this again with a different color combination.

That's all for now :)

Del Sol Tricks and Treats

Hey Everyone!!! Sorry, running late tonight. I got caught up in the baseball game then the football game and Monday Night Raw. The bf keeps switching between the two shows. Today was quite a trying and tiring day. I realized about noon time that the project we worked on Saturday was still sitting at home and it was due today. My dear son was very lucky his teacher allowed him to turn it in after school because I was fuming.

Tonight I have for you my first Halloween mani of the season. I need to make this quick because I need to do another one and time is running out.

For tonight's design I used Del Sol's Trick or Treat.

I picked this up sometime last year. I loved it in store and it does actually turn unlike a couple of the others that I have. Unfortunately they claim that it will turn black but as you will see it turns more of a brown. It actually makes my nails look dirty which annoys me.

I love the label on this one and the cute spider webs.

I used Konad plate M13 to stamp pumpkins. I used Jesse's Girl Blackout for the pumpkins.

When it is in the shade it is an awesome Orange glitter. This baby is so glittery and I love it when it is orange.

I need to work on my centering when stamping. The pumpkins were crooked but still cute. Oh and there is my mutant nub freshly broken nail. The stamp is almost as big as the nail. :(

A little blurry but you can see the glitter in this picture.

In the sun it turns colors which is a score since I have had issues with Del Sol in the past.

It washed out my pumpkins a little bit but that is ok. I didn't mind.

I did however wish the "black" color that it turned was a little more black and less dingy looking.

In person it looks like really dirty mud puddle brown.

This polish is really fun though and I will definitely wear it again. It is kind of fun to watch it change. I wish all the Del Sol polishes I have worked as well as this one does.

That's all for now  :)

This Rock Star is a Dud

Hey Everyone! This is a little later than usual, sorry about that. It was a strange day at work where lots was going on but not really.

Today I have for you a dud of a Rock Star. This is one of the polishes my parents got me on their Alaskan cruise. Del Sol Rock Star. I love the color, I love the color it is supposed to turn but alas it does not turn that color.

Here is the polish. Pretty blue isn't it? I used three coats on my left hand and then wanted to try something with my right hand. I layered one coat of Rock Star over one coat of Essie Trophy Wife. I thought maybe one thin coat would make it change more.

This is three coats of Rock Star. These pictures are inside so they are supposed to be blue.

This is Rock Star over Essie Trophy Wife. Please excuse the cleanup, I was not really caring what they looked like at this point. This was outside but there was no sun.

It looks darker and deeper over Trophy Wife.

I do like it layered over another color but it doesn't effect the color changing ability. Then again not even sun did.

There is definitely visible nail line when it is alone. Even after three coats.

Last picture in the shade. I took a lot of pictures, sorry. I wanted to prove I wasn't crazy.

I got these two pictures from the Del Sol website because this is what they show for this polish. It can be found here.

This is my bottle of Del Sol sitting in the sun. It had been sitting in the sun for quite awhile before I took this picture. It was 90+ degrees out and I was not going to sit out there ALL day to see if it finally turned.

This is the hand with 3 coats of Del Sol. Two of my fingers changed a bit but they are no where near as green as the website makes it seem as though they should be turning.

Same hand in a different position. Interesting how they no longer look so green. I have no idea what is up with this polish.

Here is the right hand which was one layer over Trophy Wife. Remember these started out darker to begin with because they had a base.

My thumb in that picture is just a couple of coats of Rock Star with no top coat. Still not seeing the green.

I got two nails to change color but only if you looked at it at a certain angle? Um, I do not think that is the way it is supposed to work. To say I am disappointed in this polish would be an understatement. I remember when I bought Trick or Treat (it is still untried) I saw a change in color immediately when I walked outside the store. It was that quick and that strong of a change. I think I might contact the company tomorrow and let them know this one is a dud.

That's all for now :)

Spike and Mariner Together Again

Hey Everyone! I have had quite the weird day. Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior started it off by batting me in the eye this morning at 6 am. I mean my eye was OPEN when he smacked me. I wasn't fully awake and I guess my reflexes weren't awake yet either because I couldn't get my eye closed quick enough. This was after he attacked my head again and before he kept batting at my eyes and got them a couple times with his little claws. That kitten is crazy sometimes!

I come in the house from dropping my son off at school and my brother is waiting for me on the couch. He is going with me to the dentist because a. he knows the girl who owns the office and b. he thinks I will not be able to drive after the dreaded root canal. I am not sure what he thinks they are going to do to me but he is freaking me out. So he says to me NICE SHIRT! I say thanks thinking it is because I am wearing his team shirt from the robot competition but then I look at him and laugh. Nice Shirt!!! He is wearing the same shirt! He refused my convincing argument that it would be cute for us to wear matching shirts and he changes his. We get in the car to go to the dentist and a cheesy old Lionel Richie song is on the radio and we both start singing along because he is hitting a high note that neither of us can but love to try anyway. (Singing is not one of my talents, at all!) I tell him it would have been much more awesome if we were wearing the same shirt!

SO on our way to the dentist I mention they did not call me to remind me of the appointment which she ALWAYS does and he says are you sure it is today? I said yes I am, I think, I know it is on June 9th! It is June 9th right? UM NO it is the 8th! I call her to make sure because I swear it was today and sure enough it is in fact on June 9th which is tomorrow. *smacks forehead*  DUH!

I also just got in a fight with UPS over a work matter. We shipped a package 2nd Day Air and it is not been delivered yet. When I track the package it says it was left at facility/ forwarded to facility in destination city. I call UPS and they say the same thing the screen says. She can't tell me if it will be delivered today, tomorrow or next year. IS 2nd Day Air Guaranteed? YES she says. OK so 2nd day is guaranteed but you aren't delivering it in two days? No, it is our error. Ok, will you be refunding us the charge for 2nd day? She tells me when the package is delivered I should call them back and we can discuss it. Oh how I love when these things happen. I was not friendly nor was I happy especially when I had to try and explain to my customer how her guaranteed 2nd day delivery package delivery date is unknown. Is the day over yet???

Ok, sorry about that little rant, now on to the good stuff! Since I did my last mani with Del Sol Spike and a stamping of BB Couture Mariner I decided to reverse it for this mani. Mariner was the polish I wanted to show you over the weekend but didn't get a chance to.

BB Couture Mariner is on the left and Del Sol Spike is on the right. I actually used only one coat of Mariner on my left hand. I wanted to see what it looked like with two coats and if that made a difference so I did two coats on my right hand.

I used my Shany plate BM12 for stamping Del Sol Spike. I used the bunch of flowers design that is on the right.

My mani chipped before 11am because I didn't wrap my tips and it wanted to be difficult so please excuse the chipping. I took some pictures in the sun and some inside to see if you could tell a difference with the stamping. I think the design was so small it was really hard to tell the difference.

I actually just look how my fingers look strange in this picture.

This was one coat!! I was amazed at the full coverage in one coat. There was one patch on one nail that I messed up and a second coat would have fixed but other than that there was no need for a second.

I love the formula of the BB Couture polish it was smooth and gave me no problems what so ever. This is two coats and really you can't tell a difference.

The color is really nice! It kept reflecting the lights which of course obscures the stamping.

I need some work on centering my stamping design. Spike worked great for stamping though.

Such a cute design I want to try it with maybe a white base and super neon color hehe.

Bruce wanted to help me type up my blog! He kept attacking my hands.

This is his evil look. He is watching!

That's all for now :)

Del Sol Goodies

Ok I think Blogger is going to cooperate with me now. This is pretty picture heavy since Blogger was finally cooperating I decided to add tons of pictures.

My parents went on an Alaskan cruise and just came back Saturday. They brought me some Del Sol goodies which is awesome. I know they have them some where down here in Miami but the only time I have ever seen them in person is up in the Tampa area in a random Walgreens. I used to have those hypercolor T-shirts as a kid and loved them. We would put our hands on each others shirts trying to leave hand prints.

My parents brought me this cool tote bag. I am not sure what I am going to use it for but it has a killer whale on it and it is really cool. I wish I had been able to go on the cruise with them.

Check out the colors it turns in the sun. I was super impressed with all the different colors.

They got me these four Del Sol polishes as well. From left to right it is Ruby Slipper, Rock Star, Day Dreamer and Spike.

I chose Spike for the first mani. My parents were so funny too. I did my nails real quick before the bf and I were running out for some errands and mentioned to my mom that I had the polish on. She asked me if it worked and I said I didn't know because I hadn't been outside yet but lets go. She runs into the bathroom where my dad was cleaning the bath tub and tells him that I am about to put my nails in the sun to come on and watch. They were so funny as they followed me outside and watched it turn from the minty green to a lavender ish shade. They were quite impressed and excited about it. Then my bf came outside in the shirt they had bought him and their excitement turned to the shirt.

I had used BB Couture Mariner over the weekend and absolutely love the polish and application so I wanted to use it for stamping over Spike. Mariner is on the left in the picture.

I used plate BM-215 that was sent to me by the lovely Holly over at shimmerspark which is from the new BundleMonster set. I used the fan design because I thought it would look cool with these colors.

I used three coats of Spike for the base. The application was streaky and it looked a bit frosty for my liking but it grew on me after awhile. After it was stamped on it looked more like a foil and I kinda liked the look.

In the shade and even in the light of the car it was a frosty minty green.

I think these two colors look really good together.

I was super excited to see what it looked like in the sun.

Luckily in Florida we have tons of sun so it wasn't too hard to get it to turn. Unfortunately it didn't turn as drastically as I had hoped. I was wondering if my top coat had anything to do with it. It turns a pinkish lavenderish color in the sun. You can somewhat tell in these pictures.

It looks a little more silver than lavender/pink in these pictures but in person you can see it more. You can also see the change a little more in person than I could get on camera.

You could probably see the change more if I didn't have the stamping on it but I like it with the stamping.

These are super fun polishes for someone as easily amused as I am lol. I kept trying to get it to change in the car but it wouldn't so as soon as I got out of the car I would stand in the sun. I truly am easily amused.

That's all for now :)
