Chromatic Creation Hearts

Hey Everyone!! Well what do ya know two posts in one day! We don't actually do Valentine's Day but since I love hearts I always do Valentine's Day manis. I know, it is weird. I figured I would do some Valentine's Day manis for this week even though I am sure some of them won't actually be your typical red and pink themed manis.

Before we get into the mani however I have a couple pictures of my little love Mr. Bruce. He cracked me up when I saw him in the window but it was really hard to get a good picture.

The funniest thing about this is that he is on top of something so he is at the top of the window. I couldn't post the picture showing the full window because the glare made it hard to see him. Just imagine him at the very top of a big window with just his head poking out of the blinds.

He was watching some birds. So funny and cute.

For my first Valentine's Day mani I used Finger Paints Chromatic Creation as the base.

I stamped with Cult Nails Quench which looked bright pink or magenta stamped over Chromatic Creation. I It was a happy accident since I was expecting something more red. The hearts I stamped with Wet n Wild black polish.

I stamped the hearts with Pueen plate PUEEN43 from the 2013 24E-Love Elements Collection.  I used Quench and Winstonia plate W113 from their first generation set for the hearts.

I wanted to add something more so I used heart shaped rhinestones from a wheel I bought on ebay. I alternated pink and red hearts. I don't like to topcoat rhinestones but I did it for this mani since the last couple of times I tried to go without top coating them I lost a few.

I put two coats of top coat on this mani and didn't see much sun after that so I didn't see the holo from Chromatic Creation much after stamping over it. I know it was there a little bit because I did get a peek at it once but it wasn't very visible. I was wondering how top coat would affect the holo but totally forgot to try it when the sun was out.

That's all for now :)

A Scandalous Apple Berry Smoothie

Hey Everyone! What a day. I have the kids at work with me today. That is always fun. I think I may be allergic to work. lol Not the actual work but my place of work. When we got here this morning my son had a huge sneezing fit and runny nose crazy episode. Over the past few days my cough/congestion garbage has been acting up really bad too. I was already thinking that I seem to have less problems on the weekends when I am home but the fact that my son started sneezing and such within minutes of being here is making me think. I might have to try and do a DEEP cleaning of my office and hope that it doesn't kill me in the process lol

Have you ever not been overly impressed with a polish but then put it on and smack yourself with a shoe for not realizing how awesome it was in the first place? THAT is what happened to me with this polish. OMG. I love Cult Nails and have been a fan since the brand launched. Around the time I started getting into the nail scene on the internet and found out about the nail boards and such is about the same time Maria launched Cult Nails. I didn't know her from the boards or anything but found her blog and followed her through the launching of the brand and I have been a fan ever since. I haven't been able to get all of the polishes they have put out (darn you lack of money lol) but I do have a nice collection and I am always looking to get the ones I am missing. Recently I found a couple on a blog sale and jumped on the opportunity to bring them home.

Cult Nails Scandalous is from the 2012 Divas and Drama collection. This was one of the collections I missed out on but because Maria puts out so many awesome polishes it kinda got pushed down the list by newer polishes that I covet. THANK GOODNESS I jumped on it when I saw it listed on the blog sale because it is GORGEOUS!!!

I had a picture of just Scandalous but I had taken it inside before doing the nail art and the lighting was awful. I will definitely do another mani with this color soon because it is so awesome. Scandalous is a coral dream of a polish that has that squishy jelly look that I am in love with. It pulls more orange on me and totally reminds me of a juicy candy.

I used Rimmel Apple Berry Smoothie from the Cocktail Colour Collection that has been popping up in stores. The Cocktail polishes are gorgeous foily, glass fleck, shimmery polishes. There are five polishes in the collection but the bottles are on the small side. I believe they are 6 or 7ml and my Walgreens has them for $2.49 a bottle. Due to size and price this one was the only one I actually purchased and only because I had a coupon.

I started with a base of Scandalous which is sooo yummy. I didn't want to do nail art on all the nails because I didn't want to cover Scandalous up.

I used striping tape that I bought on ebay to tape off the designs. I was actually going to make my index finger match my middle finger but then decided one nail had to be plain.

I was attempting this mani and rushed so I ended up messing up a bit. I tried to hide it on this hand by making the pinky a little different. It didn't work but still looks pretty cool.

I love both of these polishes and actually really liked them together. I need to do manis with each of them alone though because they are both such pretty polishes.

That's all for now :)

Cult Princess

Hey Everyone!!! Why is it always Monday? I got a little behind on posting my blue manis for the month and will be running over into May to show them all. I love blue and Autism Awareness shouldn't be limited to just April so I am going to keep going for a couple of extra days. My son is finally feeling better, thank you for the well wishes :) I am going to make it short because we are still recovering from last week's sickness and I am still a bit tired from not getting much sleep.
Today I have a great polish from Cult Nails

Cult Nails Princess from the Cult Fairy Tale 2012 collection.

This polish is described as a "soft, dusty, sky blue" and it has a gorgeous copper shimmer to it. In the bottle it looks much more blue than it did on my nails.

These first two pictures are the closest to accurate color wise. On me it looked like a very dusty, soft blue leaning gray. It is a really pretty color but didn't look very blue on me.

Of course my pictures are trying to call me a liar because they actually look more blue than the polish did in real life. I swear they did not look this blue on me.

You could see the shimmer on the nail which made me happy but it wasn't very easy to capture in pictures.

I actually picked this baby up from a blog sale but I had my eye on it since the collection came out.

I tried to capture the shimmer but it only wanted to show itself a little bit.

That's all for now :)

Are You Feelin' Froggy?

Hey Everyone! Today feels like it is dragging. I am also very hungry today. I ate my lunch and snacks and am STILL hungry. I hate those days. This morning I pulled several green polishes out to get ready for the coming days. I am so excited. I have a few ideas in mind but I keep searching more more inspiration. I just realized St. Patrick's Day is on a Sunday too. I have no idea what my point is about that though lol.

Today I have one of the polishes from Cult Nails 2012 Cult Fairy Tale Collection.

Cult Nails Feelin' Froggy.  As soon as I saw this polish I knew I had to have it. I love frogs and green and I needed it.

Due to my painting over the glitter gel mani I used four coats of Feelin' Froggy for this mani. It is on the sheer side and I didn't want any glitter showing through so I had to go with several coats.

Feelin' Froggy is a gorgeous green with a very pretty shimmer. You can see the shimmer in the sun picture above. The shimmer is really pretty and I LOVE the shade.

Cult Nails calls it a "muted kelly green" and I call it awesome.

I also took tons of pictures because I liked this polish a lot. I thought about just doing nail art over it and wearing it an extra day.

Sadly I didn't end up doing the nail art and instead had a very bad mani night and still regret not keeping Froggy on for another day.

Oh I am betting some nail art involving Barielle Date Night would have looked nice over this one.

I am also thinking I would really like a frappe right now or even a coffee. Maybe a chai tea? Ohhh with warm cookies. Can you tell I am hungry? I think I need to go drink a ton of water and stop thinking of food.

That's all for now :)

14 Days of Valentines Day 13

Hey Everyone! OMG WHEN AM I NOT BEHIND!?! Even though this year we didn't celebrate Valentine's Day we did plan on watching a movie and having some sort of sweet, otherwise frowned upon, desert. Between that plan and my mother stealing the computer I didn't get a chance to post my last two manis. THEN photobucket would not cooperate and kept freezing. Figures!
I had a different plan for this mani but I couldn't find the supplies so I altered it a tad. I have no idea where I put things and STILL can't find what I am looking for which is annoying.

I used Bettina Earth for the base color. I used three coats for this mani because it wasn't quite even with two.

I used Bundle Monster plate BM-317. I was dying to use this design since it is my favorite on the plate.

Picture taken from ArtsyFartsyCrafts ebay page for item.
I had bought some caviar beads but could never figure out how I wanted to use them when this idea popped into my head.

First I stamped the image with a Color Club pink that is unnamed because it came in a set. Then I used Cult Nails Untamed to fill in the big heart on each nail.

I used the Color Club pink under Untamed to fill in the heart that my caviar beads was going on to make them stand out more.

Then I covered the heart with the caviar beads.

Looking back I think had I let the pink dry and then used clear polish to attach the beads it might have looked slightly better. I will try that next time.

I absolutely loved this mani!!!

I think the beads worked well and I covered them with two nice coats of top coat and they were nice and secure.

This mani made me think of chocolate and candy. I am trying to think of more ways to use those caviar beads.

That's all for now :)

14 Days of Valentines Day 5

Hey Everyone!! I am about to go join the boys on the couch to watch Harry Potter. The kids are sooo cute and young in this movie. I LOVE Harry Potter and could watch the movies a million times . I can't believe how small the kids were! Today I spruced up Cult Nails Untamed with some stamping.

I used Bundle Monster plate BM-317 for the stamping pattern.

I used the circle of hearts pattern top center. The only complaint I have about this pattern is that my nails were too small for the whole pattern. I really would love that whole pattern on my nails. It is really cute.

I used Sinful Colors Ardoise from their recent Haute Rebel collection for the stamping.

I loved this combination and I love the pattern. Ardoise was dark but not as harsh as a black stamp would have been.

Here is a quick shot of my nubbins. The pattern barely fit on them at all.

I must say that as much as I love Cult Nails polishes Untamed is not my thing. I thought bubble gum pink was cute but it drove me crazy having it on my nails. Even df asked me WHY I was wearing pink lol

The first day with Untamed alone I was quite bothered by the color but with the stamping it wasn't as bad. I will say this polish is great formula and application wise so the polish is totally not at fault that I can't handle the color. I really really wanted to love it on me but I just don't. I do love it in the bottle and on others though lol

That's all for now :)

14 Days of Valentines Day 4

Hey Everyone!! My 14 days posts will be late because I am doing them in real time. Each mani is what I am actually wearing that day so I have to get pictures, edit and post. SO I am somewhat late tonight. I also went to the store for dinner stuff and came home only to realize I forgot the meat so back to the store I had to go. That put me behind from the start. It is also something quite typical of me lol. What is not typical of me is the pink polish that I am wearing for you today.

Today I have a Cult Nails polish for you. I forgot to take a bottle shot but it is Cult Nails Untamed. Untamed is from the Untamed Collection designed by Maria's daughter Coco. It is a sheer bubble gum pink that has a very difficult to capture in pictures shimmer.

This is three coats. You can see some visible nail line but it isn't overly sheer. You can see a teeny bit of the shimmer in these photos but only a tiny bit.

It looks like I have some tip wear but it is actually shrinkage. The formula of this polish is really nice and it went on like a dream.

I actually took off my Superbowl mani and the gel mani under it last night and did this one while I was watching the end of the Superbowl. Any cuticle drag and various spots that aren't perfect were because I was watching the game rather than my nails lol. That is also why this one is a plain mani without nail art.

I tried everything I could to get the shimmer to show but it didn't want to play. It is very pretty in person though.

I had my ring finger also break on my left hand so I am down to nubbins on my left hand. :(

OK I must run off and quiz my son who is studying for a science test.

That's all for now :)
