Signs of Spring

Hey Everyone! Things are going to be a little crazy for the next couple of weeks so I apologize now. I am working my job and also covering for the warehouse guy for the next two weeks so I am going to be going crazy. Today was a pretty slow day so things weren't too bad but I anticipate tomorrow or Thursday being busier. It should be fun. I also have to compete with my son for the computer since his homework assignments have to be done online. Tonight the computer was also hijacked by my mother so it has been interesting. I think I spent a good 30-45 minutes trying to roll a skein of yarn into a ball too. So many knots so little time. I am pretty tired but that is mostly because I was up really early this morning.

Tonight I have another blue mani for you to enjoy.

BB Couture Signs of Spring from the 2010 Ladybug Collection.

This was three coats. I did have a little cuticle drag going on but it was really because I didn't wait long enough between coats.

The formula was nice but a little on the sheer side. I won't do four coats but with the cuticle drag I think a few nails could have used it.

One of the things I have to apologize for now is the lack of clean up. I didn't have a lot of time to get them cleaned up last night and I meant to do it today but I didn't get a chance to finish. This is probably going to be more of a problem these two weeks but I promise to try and make them presentable.

It is a pretty light blue. It is a little darker and dustier than a baby blue but along the same lines. The shimmer in this one is so pretty.

You can see the cuticle drag on this hand much more unfortunately.

Oh macro how you show my flaws mercilessly.

This polish is gorgeous and held up really well through a day of warehouse work. I only had some very minor tip wear. I have not met a BB Couture that I don't love.

That's all for now :)

BB Couture Studio 54

Hey Everyone! It is raining tonight. I am also freezing though I don't know why. Just random tidbits of information for you. This afternoon my son texted me. His text said I need a bond. I texted bond into my phone because at 13 there is no way my son should be needing to be bonded out of jail. I was flustered when the only thing I could come up with was bond or bone. Um. Ok. I called him rather flustered and asked him WHAT?! he needed. He says I need a bone. WHAT?! what kind of bone?! He says I don't know a chicken bone or a small animal. I am thinking WTF?! Why do you need a bone?! Oh, my teacher says I need to bring a bone in tomorrow. OK. WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO GET A BONE FROM?! He says I don't know, KFC? I told him he needs to learn to spell and text and that I would talk to him when I picked him up. Oh yeah, by the way, he has known about this bone necessity since Tuesday and just decided to mention it today. BOYS!!!!

So today I have another polish from my RAOK package. It is another BB Couture polish. I love this brand. I don't have many of them but the ones I do have are really nice polishes with a great formula.

BB Couture Studio 54.

I used two coats for this mani. The formula was great and I love the bright green shade.

It is very shimmery and pretty and looks like it has a nice depth to it. I like polishes that have depth.

I took a ton of pictures of it because it is oh so pretty.

Very shiny too.

It is also pretty sparkly.

A picture of Junior puppy. :( He is so cute.

This is a great St. Patrick's Day green so I am going to have to bust it out next month too.

Maybe put some shamrocks on it or something. I love greens.

I love this picture! I was holding my hand out to take the picture when junior decided I was holding my hand out for him to lick it. I snapped the picture at the same time he decided to lick my hand lol.

That's all for now :)

Green Goblin Part Dos

Hey Everyone! It is ME again!! Whoo HOO. I told you I would be back :)

So I had on BB Couture Green Goblin when I ran into Sallys to check out their clearance area. They had the two Orly Holiday top coats on clearance and since I had already picked up Twilight I decided that I could give Shining Star a whirl as well. I don't typically like gold so I hadn't gotten this one earlier but for 2 bucks I wasn't going to leave it behind. When I was checking out I noticed they had one bottle of the Finger Paints Sparkle top coat sitting there all by itself. It was also on clearance so I grabbed it. I already had a bottle but it is really pretty and I figured if anything I can swap it or something later.

I am pretty impatient sometimes so I decided to try the two new top coats over Green Goblin. First up is one coat of the Finger Paints top coat over Green Goblin.

I used one coat. Please ignore the huge gap on my ring finger, I got over excited on the clean up of that nail.

The Sparkle top coat is gorgeous. It has a beautiful shimmer and reminds me of the CND Effects.

I could see purple and pink shimmer all over the place and it made Green Goblin look totally different.

I was quite impressed with this Sparkle topcoat.

On my left hand I used a coat of Orly Shining Star over Green Goblin.

Look at the sparkle!!! I really like this one even if it is gold!

I was really shocked that I liked this one so much. It is very pretty.

I loved the sparkle that it added. It was crazy shiny.

My Sallys still has a bunch of these left. It seems that the top coats were quite over looked this year. I haven't tried Twilight yet but I am going to soon. I hope it is as awesome as this one.

I also have some random pictures from the Miami Heat game we recently went to. I am not a Heat fan, at all. I do not like them. We were given the tickets though and my son had never been to a game before so we decided to go.

The scoreboard in the middle is very odd. I had a headache which made the game even more fun.

Despite the 76ers being ranked higher and having a better record at the time the Heat won this one quite easily. It was highly disappointing.

It was pretty cool though, going to a live game is always fun even if the soda is $8.00 a cup.

AND though they offer free refills they don't tell you they close the concession stand at the beginning of the 4th quarter so when you want a refill just minutes into the 4th you are stuck like chuck and you get NOTHING! Well, you get an empty plastic Miami Heat cup that you don't want because you don't even like the Heat and it is EMPTY! You also get annoyed and the wonderful feeling of being ripped off.

Other than the soda incident though it was a pretty decent time. It would have been even better if the Heat lost :)

That's all for now :)

BB COUTURE GREEN GOBLIN

Hey Everyone! I am going to have two posts for you today. YAY. They are related and instead of posting it all together I decided to split the posts. PLUS I didn't post last night so now you get two posts. I didn't have coffee today because I didn't have time to make it before leaving this morning. I usually only drink one cup a day in the morning and I really feel it when I don't have that cup of coffee. It doesn't help that I didn't sleep all that well. At some point I woke up in the middle of the night and was coughing and my neck was hurting. I made it through one and a half cough drops before I finally stopped coughing enough to go back to sleep. This cough needs to go away. At least it has gotten a ton better.

Today I have a polish from BB Couture to show you all. I got this polish in an awesome RAOK package around Christmas time from a super sweet member of the nail board community.

BB Couture Green Goblin.

Green Goblin makes me think of Spiderman while simultaneously making me sing the Jolly Green Giant song in my head. HO HO HO GREEN GOBLIN! Yeah, I remember those commercials from when I was young and that jingle has been stuck in my head for at least a day every time I think about this polish.

I believe I used three coats on this polish to even it all out. I got a super cool new little notebook to write all this stuff down in so that I don't have to say I think it was 3 coats anymore. Ok, the notebook isn't that super cool but it works.

I had some major tip wear with this one. I have been printing a lot at work which means opening ream after ream of paper. My nails get tip wear pretty quickly that way.

Green Goblin is a deep, dark, murky green. I love it. It reminds me of a swamp like color not necessarily a Green Goblin. That is ok though because I love it anyway.

That's all for now :)

My Little Mermaid

Hey Everyone! I have to make this one quick because I have licey headed children soaking in tea tree oil infused conditioner wrapped up in Saran Wrap. They look crazy but it seems to be working. I am going nuts because I am paranoid and think I am all itchy. I don't have lice, the bf checked, but I have sympathy itchiness. It is driving me NUTS! I would much rather write a nice post than comb out lice!

This mani was for Mermaid day on the nail board. I liked it and thought it looked pretty good. My son at least said it looked watery but he couldn't tell. *shakes head*

I used Jesse's Girl Firefly, BB Couture Mariner, Essie Trophy Wife, Piggy Polish Teal Me About it and Ulta Turqs and Caicos and a coat of Sally Hansen Tealy Cool (not pictured).

I used the top left image for stamping.

I used Firefly as the base and sponged Trophy Wife,Turqs & Caicos and Teal Me About It. Then I stamped Mariner over all of that. I topped it off with a coat of Sally Hansen Tealy Cool.

I think it looks Mermaid Tail like.

I tried to get good pictures of it at different angles. This one is weird.

I am going to let the pictures do the talking while I run off to comb.

I would rather not be doing lice duty all night.

Lice is not my friend.

Anyone want a couple kids? They are cute...sometimes.

Didn't think I could get rid of them that easy lol

Ok, ok, the bf just asked me when I am doing their hair. BOO!!!!!

That's all for now :)

What is a Man Bug?

Hello Again! I thought Monday was a pretty blah day but today is even more fun! I am awaiting a call with my son's school so I can make a complaint about the uniforms. I have already ranted to everyone who would listen so I am a lot less furious/frustrated about the whole ordeal lol The public schools here have a uniform policy where the kids need to wear specific color polo shirts and pants. I have no issue at all with this because it makes school clothes shopping easy on me. This year however they have decided each year is to wear a different color polo AND the kicker is their shirts MUST have the school emblem on them. Not only does that make his shirts from last year no longer wearable because they aren't all burgundy but it makes the shirts more expensive this year. I am not pleased. They are in bed with one particular company too so basically I can either buy shirts elsewhere and pay $4 per shirt for a patch of the emblem OR pay $15 a shirt at this particular store. DEFINITELY not pleased.

I do have a pretty mani for you today though. I am glad it is cheery because I was not a happy camper this morning. First I have to share with you my Fairy Name. Over on the nail board today's theme is fairy nails. Unfortunately I didn't have a fairy manicure but they posted a fairy name generator link and I went and got mine. My Fairy Name is.....drumroll please....Bindweed Saturnwitch! I thought that was funny and totally random :)

BB Couture Man Bug. I have no clue what a Man Bug is, is it a bug that is a man or is a VW Bug that is made especially for men? I don't know. I do know that I would not think of this pretty aqua green blue glittery color as a Man Bug though. Nope, not at all.

I used 3 coats for this mani. You can see some cuticle drag going on but that is probably due to my speed racer mentality when applying polish. I pretty much finish all ten nails then start on the next coat immediately. I think letting the coats dry a bit would have prevented this.

Man Bug is almost jelly like and has really pretty green and gold glitter throughout.

I had gotten a huge chip on my index finger which is why you only get to see three fingers in some of these pictures.

I really like this color despite the visible nail line.  I am loving BB Couture polishes. I think they have a great formula and really fun colors. My wishlist for this brand keeps growing lol.
