Wrestlemania Nails

Hey Everyone!!! Happy Friday! I love Friday. I don't have much planned for the weekend but I am hoping to work on some new polish jewelry pieces. Other than that I have nothing. It is a pretty boring week. Today is take your child to work day, however, mine is finally at the age where he would rather go to school because he knows he won't be doing anything there. Ah how I miss little ones. 

Today's mani is something I did at the end of last month for Wrestlemania. We watch it every year and this year I remembered I have a plate with the logo and so I had to do a mani for it.

For the base I went with a simple black and gold gradient. We were watching the Hall of Fame ceremony when I did this mani so I was thinking fancy with the black and gold I guess.

 I did a base of Sinful Colors Black on Black then kind of dabbed the gold on. I probably should have used a sponge for a better effect but I couldn't remember where I had put them and I was too lazy to go find them. The gold is Milani Milan from their Fierce Foil Collection. I really love the look of this gold for some reason. It is kind of a flakey glitter which makes it fun to use for gradients.

I used Fab Ur Nails plate FUN 11 for the image. I have had this plate for quite awhile and never remember that this image is on there. I used Konad White stamping polish with Mundo De Unas Reddish. I love how this mani came out and even C showed more interest in it than his usual half paying attention nod.

St. Patrick's Day

Hey Everyone!! Last day of March, last St. Patrick's Day green mani. This is the mani I actually wore on St. Patrick's Day. I loved it, so much fun.

We went to lunch the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day and they gave me this Guinness bead necklace. I will take most anything if it is free and decided that it would be a nice festive prop for these pictures. I don't actually drink Guinness, or anything alcoholic really, but it was green.

For the base of this mani I used Smitten Polish Not Your Mama's Easter Grass and Milani Milan as a gradient. 

I had to have some gold in with my green and Milan is a great gold foil like polish. I loved the gradient base and I usually don't love gold.

This mani was so glowy and I wish I had thought to take a picture of just the base.

I used MoYou London plate Festive 21 for the images.

For some reason I didn't grab the tiny shamrocks correctly and they didn't come out perfect but they were still cute. I love this plate and highly recommend it for all your Irish and St. Patrick's Day stamping needs. Had it arrived earlier I would have done more manis with it but MoYou released it so close to the holiday that by the time it arrived I only had a couple days left to play. It is probably better that way seeing as I am still posting St. Patrick's Day going into April. Who knows how many more manis I would have to post had I gotten that plate sooner.

Secret Periwinkle Flowers

Hey Everyone!!! Happy Friday to you! I am so tired today. Instead of going back to sleep for a bit after dropping T off at school I went to the grocery store. I then made lunch and went over to the kennel to try and get some pictures of the dogs before coming to work. I am actually regretting not sleeping now that it is slow and I am quite sleepy. It is either going to be an early night or a lazy night because right now I am pretty tired. Thank goodness it is Friday!

Today I have another Gel mani for you with some stamping. I only have three pictures though for some reason. I was really eager to play with my new Konad toys that a lovely nailboard friend sent me. I have never had an actual stamping polish so I was super excited to use one of the ones she sent. I didn't quite think the color combination through though and I ended up not liking this mani as much as I wanted to.

I started with a base of Gelaze Secret Periwinkle. This one was a little thicker but application was no problem. It actually lasted about 6 or 7 days before I had lifting and chipping and had to remove it. The abuse I put this gel mani through included scrubbing 30 muzzles clean at the kennel.

I used Konad plate M64 for the flower design and Konad Yellow stamping polish. I then used Milani Creamy Pistachio to add random dots. I must say using polish that is meant for stamping as opposed to polish that may or may not stamp well is quite nice. I have never used an actual stamping polish and not having to worry about if it is going to show up is great. It is also great to know that you can rely on that polish to do what you want instead of being disappointed when your stamping is so subtle it is hardly noticeable. I wouldn't stop stamping with normal polishes but I definitely see myself buying some more stamping polishes!

Lemon Nails

Hey Everyone!! Happy Monday to you! I can't believe we are already midway through June. Where does the time go? I had a pretty low key weekend. Pretty much the most I accomplished was a pendant for one of df's volunteers at the kennel and I started two pair of earrings. I will of course post pictures when I have them finished. I am trying to get a good amount of stuff ready to be glued so I can do all the glue work at one time. I had planned on doing a mani yesterday but got lazy and watched movies instead. I really hate when I am forced to watch a movie that has already begun. My brother had Trouble with the Curve on the tv and as much as I tried to ignore it I got sucked in. I missed the beginning which is quite annoying. Good movie but I have a hard time associating Justin Timberlake with a baseball player. We also watched Contagion last night and I told df I never want to leave the house or breathe air in public again now. Those movies always make me paranoid.

Today I have my first jump into the textured polishes. I have a few but haven't tried them yet. I woke up wanting to do lemon nails so I reached for this one.

Milani Yellow Mark from the Texture Creme Collection.

I attempted to stamp a citrus pattern on my nails with both white and a lime green color and it failed. You can see my middle finger is stamped in some of the pictures. It was very much less obvious in person. I decided to break out my ebay fimo wheel of fruit. I used a lemon on my ring finger and a grapefruit on my index finger.

I love the grapefruit and lemon slices. They were cut pretty thin so they didn't catch on everything like I expected them too. I didn't use a top coat and they managed to stay put the entire time I had the mani on so I was impressed. I was also able to take them off and save them for future use. I actually ripped one of the lemons in half by accident but it is still usable as a lemon wedge lol

Yellow Mark is a great bright yellow. I love how vibrant it is and I love the shade.

I can't remember if I did two or three coats for this mani. I think I did two coats.

It is a little strange to apply this polish because it is textured. It gets more textured as it dries but it is still not a smooth polish when you apply it. The application isn't difficult it is just different.

The texture wasn't overly annoying but I was bothered by the edges when I wrapped my tips. I ended up going back and wrapping my tips with clear so that they were smooth. I couldn't stand the ragged edge being scratchy and catching things.

You can see a little bit of the stamping in the picture above. I was hoping the stamping would be more visible in person. I didn't think to try using a bright pink to go with the grapefruit, I might have to try that another time.

I had gotten an email from Menchies Frozen Yogurt place about their new character Mookie the cow the other day. Their spoons all have characters on them and I have one in each one so when I saw the email I HAD to go get the new spoon. I love cows and honestly it was a great excuse to go have some frozen yogurt which I am not supposed to be eating lol I had to take a picture of the spoon lol Yes, I act like I am 5 sometimes.

I really love those fimo slices. It is a simple mani but I love how cute it looked.

Ever since a friend of mine showed me a mani with yellow glitter I have been wanting lemon nails. This texture polish is not only an awesome lemony yellow but the texture is reminiscent of the feel of a lemon so I have finally managed to have my lemon nails.

Maisie Dating a Royal

Hey Everyone! I am going to attempt to post during the day and do my photo editing at night for awhile and see if it helps out. It is a GORGEOUS day in South Florida today. It is actually pretty odd, it was just unbearably hot and today it is cool and windy and nice enough to have the doors open at work. I know there were winter storm warnings for the Northerners too. I really think the world is going wacky. The guy at CVS this morning was talking about how people think the world is ending because it is cool out. We laughed a little bit about that one.

This morning I hit up the magical Walgreens near my job. I never know what I am going to find there but I have been stalking it harder than normal lately because they carry some Layla polishes and I am dying for them to get the Holographic polishes. They haven't yet but today they did have a few items on clearance and a special find. These are cell phone pictures so they aren't the best quality but I was too excited to not share.

I am pretty cheap. I usually won't buy polishes unless they are on sale and even then I will try and wait for clearance pricing. Well, today I got clearance pricing. I had been too cheap to buy the Wet N Wild Color Icon glitters when they came out but for .74 cents I sure will! I would have bought more but those were the only two colors. I have lemmed Milani Teddy Bare forever now and when I saw this brown and read Teddy Brown I freaked out. THEN I realized that it wasn't Teddy Bare after all. I bought it though because I love brown polishes. I am still lemming Teddy Bare though lol. Yes, the blue one was the shocker of the morning.

I found two of these bottles hanging out with a bin of Sinful Colors minis from Christmas time. Um, I thought at first maybe it was a Wet n Wild but the bottle was too big. It couldn't be? Could it? OMG YES IT IS A GOSH POLISH!!!! It says Special Edition on it and had the flowery print on the cap. Um, WHAT?! I stalk that store fairly frequently and have NEVER seen a Gosh polish there before and I couldn't find another one anywhere. I was floored. I had to buy it because it is blue and it is Gosh. I also need to figure a way into the backroom of that store without getting arrested to see if there are more. INSANITY I TELL YOU!!!

Ok. Today's post is a gorgeous polish I lemmed for a long time before I finally broke down and bought it. I don't remember if I got it on a blog sale or what bu I shouldn't have taken so long to get it. I topped it with a coat of Zoya Maisie since I had it sitting there and love flakies.

This is two coats of OPI Dating a Royal with one coat of Zoya Maisie. As you can see my index finger had broken quite bad. It was painful and ugly. I apologize. I cropped it out of some of the pictures because I do not like it. It has grown back some so that is good.

My poor nails and cuticles took a beating working out in the warehouse for two weeks. This is the sad state of my cuticles and nails after all that work. They are slowly getting better.

Since everything I have done has been rushed lately when I did this mani it didn't quite dry fast enough and I totally trashed my index finger. It was pretty bad. This is why I try not to stray from SV, nothing else quite dries as well.

I really love the Zoya Flakie, I am pretty sure I am going to need the other two to add to my collection.

Dating a Royal is an awesome polish. It applied nicely and is a gorgeous royal blue squishy jelly like polish. I am not sure if it is a true jelly but I love the way it looks squishy.

I need to wear this one again soon.

I loved this mani.

Giants for the WIN!!!!

Hey Everyone!!! I am super excited today since the Giants won the Superbowl yesterday! The bf's favorite team is the Giants and I have become and honorary fan since I met him. I also really do not like the Patriots, at all, not even a little bit. The game was way too stressful for me though lol.

So to celebrate the win I have my playoffs manis for you. The bf demanded I wear them for each of the playoff games since the second week I wore the mani they won. It had to be the EXACT same mani. He is funny.

Its the Bisbee Remix

Hey Everyone!! I have a cold! Please do not get too close to the screen as I do not wish to infect you. I don't feel completely awful which is a great thing but I do feel sick. I am actually glad that I got this cold instead of the stupidness that I had last month with the sinus issues. 

I spent a wonderful day on my couch yesterday watching the playoffs. HOW BOUT THEM GIANTS?! I am super excited that the Giants are going to the Super Bowl. They have become my second team since I met the bf so I am excited from that perspective but also because I was not really enjoying the prospect of dealing with a very cranky Giants fan if they lost. He made me do my nails in the same way as I had them for last week's game. It was really cute because I had a green BB Couture polish on and kept showing him my nails and then I mentioned oh my Sunday nails and he flipped out because they weren't ready for the game. He momentarily lost sanity because it was the first game that was starting and not the Giants game. I ended up finishing them right before game time so he was happy. 

I have a better version of the mani in these pictures! I did ding my thumb finger and messed that one up but I rarely show my thumb so it was ok. 

I love the subtle holo that you can see through the NY decal.

Ok today I have for you another post with Hare Bisbee. I wanted to see how this baby would look layered over different color polishes. 

I love Bisbee.

I did two coats of Bisbee over skittles in different colors. I believe my thumbs had three because I used Jesse's Girl Blackout as the basecoat and it looked streaky with just two coats.

From Index finger to Pinky I used Revlon Expresso, Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue, Revlon Emerald and Revlon Golden as the bases. I used three coats over Golden as well.

I thought it was crazy how much the colors changed depending on the base. I probably should have expected it but for whatever reason I was still surprised lol.

My favorites were Bisbee over Emerald and Thinking of Blue. 

It was interesting how you couldn't even tell that the base under my index finger was brown except for where I messed it up and some of it showed through.

I think I like Bisbee best by itself but it does look really nice layered over different colors as well.

I also discovered I didn't really dig the whole skittle mani. It bothered me that my nails didn't all match and weren't all the same color. I am not sure if it was just the colors I chose for the base or skittles in general. I am going to have to give it another try. I also realize tonight that I HATE T-mobile! I have phone issues and they are not very helpful. AT ALL!
