Dragon Nails

Hey Everyone! Ever have one of those days where you just want to run away from the world and live on a nice peaceful island with no worries and no people? Yeah, I am ready for my island right about now! It is just not turning out to be a good week? month? summer? I don't know but it seems like there is something new at every turn and I am stressed!

I would pull my hair out but I have it up in a bun right now complete with some gel after using Tea Tree Oil Shampoo (I am buying tea tree oil on the way home too lol) since the latest addition to my stress is lice! I don't have it, knock on wood, even though I think I have sympathy itchy head but the kids seem to. I have never had lice and never dealt with it so I am freaked out and clueless not to mention paranoid. The kids are quarantined lol. Since I was unable to call in to work today the bf switched his days off and is at home doing the treatment. Like I said I know nothing about lice or what they look like but he says they have it and since he has the experience he is dealing with it.

Today is my mom's birthday, I told her the kids got lice for her birthday which at least was a good laugh. I just rather forcefully told a company to STOP calling my office until Thursday and hung up on them. lol. I feel slightly bad that the foreigner who barely speaks English but has an assigned American name like PEGGY got to deal with it but they are calling about a free publication that my boss gets. They have called at least 6 times in the past two days and I don't even know how many times last week for the man. Every time they call I tell them he won't be back until Thursday and no he does not have an assistant that can help them they must speak with him. They are always pretty rude and hang up on me all the time so my guilt for being short and telling "Peggy" to stop calling me until Thursday which I have told them at least 6 times is short lived.

Can I go home and barricade myself in my room under my covers now? lol.

Last week the nail board had themes each day for mystical creatures. I forget which day it was but one of the days was Dragon so this is my Dragon inspired mani.

I used Nubar Moon Shadow as the base color then I used Essence Where's the Party, Can't Cheat on Me and Essie Trophy Wife to stamp the pattern on. I used plate BM215.

Moon Shadow was pretty sheer which was interesting. I thought it would be much more opaque. I used two coats of it. Since I stamped so many colors over top of each other you can't really see them all but I thought it gave it a nice look. I was going for Dragon scales.

It looked pretty cool in the sun light but of course it was overcast most of the day.

I took a lot of pictures trying to catch all the color but it wasn't really happening.

Can't Cheat on Me picked up the sun when it was out but it wasn't out long enough for me to get it on camera.

It sort of looks Dragon scale ish.

I like it though. It worked for me.

I asked the kids and of course my son says he doesn't really know but it kind of looks like scales.

I think I should stop asking the child lol.

It was pretty and different and you could use the plate to create a faux snakeskin mani. I think done right it would look pretty close to snakeskin and would be much less creepy then sticking an actual skin on your nail.

I hope your day is going better than mine :)

That's all for now :)

Del Sol Goodies

Ok I think Blogger is going to cooperate with me now. This is pretty picture heavy since Blogger was finally cooperating I decided to add tons of pictures.

My parents went on an Alaskan cruise and just came back Saturday. They brought me some Del Sol goodies which is awesome. I know they have them some where down here in Miami but the only time I have ever seen them in person is up in the Tampa area in a random Walgreens. I used to have those hypercolor T-shirts as a kid and loved them. We would put our hands on each others shirts trying to leave hand prints.

My parents brought me this cool tote bag. I am not sure what I am going to use it for but it has a killer whale on it and it is really cool. I wish I had been able to go on the cruise with them.

Check out the colors it turns in the sun. I was super impressed with all the different colors.

They got me these four Del Sol polishes as well. From left to right it is Ruby Slipper, Rock Star, Day Dreamer and Spike.

I chose Spike for the first mani. My parents were so funny too. I did my nails real quick before the bf and I were running out for some errands and mentioned to my mom that I had the polish on. She asked me if it worked and I said I didn't know because I hadn't been outside yet but lets go. She runs into the bathroom where my dad was cleaning the bath tub and tells him that I am about to put my nails in the sun to come on and watch. They were so funny as they followed me outside and watched it turn from the minty green to a lavender ish shade. They were quite impressed and excited about it. Then my bf came outside in the shirt they had bought him and their excitement turned to the shirt.

I had used BB Couture Mariner over the weekend and absolutely love the polish and application so I wanted to use it for stamping over Spike. Mariner is on the left in the picture.

I used plate BM-215 that was sent to me by the lovely Holly over at shimmerspark which is from the new BundleMonster set. I used the fan design because I thought it would look cool with these colors.

I used three coats of Spike for the base. The application was streaky and it looked a bit frosty for my liking but it grew on me after awhile. After it was stamped on it looked more like a foil and I kinda liked the look.

In the shade and even in the light of the car it was a frosty minty green.

I think these two colors look really good together.

I was super excited to see what it looked like in the sun.

Luckily in Florida we have tons of sun so it wasn't too hard to get it to turn. Unfortunately it didn't turn as drastically as I had hoped. I was wondering if my top coat had anything to do with it. It turns a pinkish lavenderish color in the sun. You can somewhat tell in these pictures.

It looks a little more silver than lavender/pink in these pictures but in person you can see it more. You can also see the change a little more in person than I could get on camera.

You could probably see the change more if I didn't have the stamping on it but I like it with the stamping.

These are super fun polishes for someone as easily amused as I am lol. I kept trying to get it to change in the car but it wouldn't so as soon as I got out of the car I would stand in the sun. I truly am easily amused.

That's all for now :)

Awesomeness

I wanted to share some nail mail I got from a couple of awesome ladies. Holly over at ShimmerSpark sent me this awesome plate from the new Bundle Monster set. I have been wanting to get the new set but haven't had a chance yet. The designs are bigger so they cover more nail than the original set and their designs are really cool. Thank you Holly!! I love it! I can't wait to show you all!

One of my awesome followers and a MUAer sent me a super sweet package the other day to cheer me up from all the chaos that has been going on. It couldn't have come at a better time too THANK YOU DENISE!!! I was super stoked to get a surprise package and it lifted my spirits a ton.

First was this gorgeous Love and Beauty polish in Wine. I love how simply they put the names of their polishes.

She also sent me this gorgeous pendant that she made. I love the sparkles!!!

I made a necklace for it last night :) It is three beaded strands. The bf told me the beaded strands looked hippie ish.

I laughed today when I wore my hippie ish necklace with a tie dye shirt.

She also sent me another gorgeous ring. I LOVE this ring. When I opened the package it was night time and I was in side and it looked like an orange glitter ring.

I was totally caught off guard when I wore it today outside in actual light and noticed this baby was a flakie and had tons of colors in it. I loved it when I saw it inside and was totally blown away when I saw the flakie action. Totally gorgeous and totally impossible to catch on camera. I will try again tomorrow lol.

Thank you ladies for the awesome gifts!!!!! The ring totally cheered me up today with all its flakie color.

That's all for now :)
