Del Sol Goodies

Ok I think Blogger is going to cooperate with me now. This is pretty picture heavy since Blogger was finally cooperating I decided to add tons of pictures.

My parents went on an Alaskan cruise and just came back Saturday. They brought me some Del Sol goodies which is awesome. I know they have them some where down here in Miami but the only time I have ever seen them in person is up in the Tampa area in a random Walgreens. I used to have those hypercolor T-shirts as a kid and loved them. We would put our hands on each others shirts trying to leave hand prints.

My parents brought me this cool tote bag. I am not sure what I am going to use it for but it has a killer whale on it and it is really cool. I wish I had been able to go on the cruise with them.

Check out the colors it turns in the sun. I was super impressed with all the different colors.

They got me these four Del Sol polishes as well. From left to right it is Ruby Slipper, Rock Star, Day Dreamer and Spike.

I chose Spike for the first mani. My parents were so funny too. I did my nails real quick before the bf and I were running out for some errands and mentioned to my mom that I had the polish on. She asked me if it worked and I said I didn't know because I hadn't been outside yet but lets go. She runs into the bathroom where my dad was cleaning the bath tub and tells him that I am about to put my nails in the sun to come on and watch. They were so funny as they followed me outside and watched it turn from the minty green to a lavender ish shade. They were quite impressed and excited about it. Then my bf came outside in the shirt they had bought him and their excitement turned to the shirt.

I had used BB Couture Mariner over the weekend and absolutely love the polish and application so I wanted to use it for stamping over Spike. Mariner is on the left in the picture.

I used plate BM-215 that was sent to me by the lovely Holly over at shimmerspark which is from the new BundleMonster set. I used the fan design because I thought it would look cool with these colors.

I used three coats of Spike for the base. The application was streaky and it looked a bit frosty for my liking but it grew on me after awhile. After it was stamped on it looked more like a foil and I kinda liked the look.

In the shade and even in the light of the car it was a frosty minty green.

I think these two colors look really good together.

I was super excited to see what it looked like in the sun.

Luckily in Florida we have tons of sun so it wasn't too hard to get it to turn. Unfortunately it didn't turn as drastically as I had hoped. I was wondering if my top coat had anything to do with it. It turns a pinkish lavenderish color in the sun. You can somewhat tell in these pictures.

It looks a little more silver than lavender/pink in these pictures but in person you can see it more. You can also see the change a little more in person than I could get on camera.

You could probably see the change more if I didn't have the stamping on it but I like it with the stamping.

These are super fun polishes for someone as easily amused as I am lol. I kept trying to get it to change in the car but it wouldn't so as soon as I got out of the car I would stand in the sun. I truly am easily amused.

That's all for now :)

Random Sunday Night Spam

Today I have a bunch of random bottle spam. It's been a hectic weekend and the mani I was going to show you was ruined before I was able to take pictures. I went out to the kennel Saturday which is murder on my manis. I had chips within a couple of hours. After getting cleaned up we went to see the Hangover 2. It was a funny movie and I think those guys have great chemistry together. The first one was better but it was not a waste of my time and money. We then had to pick my parents up from the airport and go out to dinner. By the time I was home it was pretty late and I was missing most of four nails worth of polish. Sadly I went back to the kennel today with that monstrosity on still. I will have mani pictures tomorrow but between the busy weekend and the cat who is trying to attack my hands while I type this is the best I have for now.

These are some of the polishes in my over flow bin. My helmer is already full (YIKES) and I haven't quite figured out what to do in regards to more storage.

Essie Sand Tropes, Essie Nice is Nice.

A franken I made with some eye shadow.

Finger Paints Holly Good Times, Essie Going Incognito and Turquoise and Caicos, Spa Ritual I Felt the Earth Move.

Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud, Orly Ginger Lily and Sally Hansen High Def.

Sally Hansen Lickety Split Lime and Grape Pop and the other one I don't remember the name for.

Borghese Mezzanorte Blue and Rimmel Midnight Blue

Nubar Hot Blue and Night Sparkle.

OPI Spark de Triomphe

Confetti Tiara, Sally Hansen Deeply Violet and Three D, Maybelline Summer Splash and Orly Space Cadet.

OPI What's with the Cattitude I HAD to get this one since I have Mr. Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior now. I still have it on my toes from the pedi I had gotten. Oddly though it seems to be fading the closer it gets to my cuticles. I have never noticed this happen before and I always have my toes painted with something. I haven't figured out why it did this yet...

That's all for now :)

Teeez Outta Control

I think the name of this polish is quite suitable lately. Everything has been pretty chaotic for a bit. Hopefully things settle down. I have a new obsession with wanting to get my polishes sorted and swatched and spread sheeted (I just wanted to keep going with the letter s lol) and situated. I actually burned the beejeezees out of my hand with a hot glue gun yesterday trying to make swatchscicles. I have already been banned from using anything sharp and mostly the paper cutter and might have to be banned from the glue gun as well. I am happy to report that I glued the other 150+ today and no burns. My skin is happy today. I actually don't need to make any more of these stupid things but it is kind of fun and I want to make more. Yes, I am weird. I also get kind of bored at works sometimes so it passes the time. Too bad I can't swatch here too.

Teeez Outta Control is today's gorgeous mani. I love this polish!!!

This is two coats. Of course I can NEVER get the holo to show in photos as much as it does in real life.

I really really tried to though.

I took all these in the car hehe. It was nice and sunny out so it was perfect.

It is a really pretty purple and the application is really smooth.

Oh how I am trying to talk these little nubs into growing faster. They are stubborn and won't listen.

Ahhh there is some of that holo.

This polish is no nice I am going to have to look at this brand and see what else they have. I like to torture myself like that because it isn't like I can just roll up into CVS and buy it or anything lol.

I chipped it pretty quickly though of course I was digging around in the abyss that is my purse so really it isn't the polishes fault. My nail actually got caught on part of my camera. I should probably keep it in it's case.

If you get a chance to get your hands on this polish I would definitely recommend doing so. It is fabulous! Oh how that statement reminds me of a really embarrassing story (embarrassing for my son). When he was younger, I would say maybe 8-10 age range, we went to visit my cousin. She had just had her first child and so really we were going to visit the baby more than her lol. You know how it goes. Anyway, so my son is sitting there and wanted to touch the baby so he ever so lightly touched the baby's head and said "His hair is FABULOUS". I have no idea where he got that from or what made him think that was the time to use that statement but we still laugh about it to this day.

That's all for now :)

Cool and the Gang

Ok what is it with the furry four legged foursome that has made it their sole goal in life to not let me sleep?! We thought we were going to out smart them last night when I had my son sleep downstairs so the bear brat would not wake me up a million times. Other than the 20 minute chill period she spent outside at 11pm she slept through the night which was so very wonderful, almost. The cute little brat known as Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior decided he wanted in on the fun and acted like a crazed maniac all night. At first I let him out of his "house" because I thought he might have to use the litter box. Uh, negative. At about 3:30 am he started to act like a crazed psychopath and had an absolute fit. I let him out again but alas as soon as I let go of him he was off and running. Eventually he fell back asleep only to be up again at 5:30 am. I was smart enough to give him some food so he would be full and sleepy and it worked. Little monster ate his food and got up and snuggled with me and FINALLY I had some sleep. My brother is back from the trip tonight and guess who gets the job of babysitting now...

So, coffee in hand, I have a very pretty but PITA polish for you today. I had bought Revlon Royal months back and promptly swapped it. Although the color is gorgeous and I love the jelly ness I couldn't get the stupid polish to look right or apply evenly. Well this one was no different. Le SIGH.

Today's mani is Essence Cool and the Gang and if I had Royal still I would compare the two for you. To me they look pretty darn close if not dead on dupes but like I said Royal is long gone.

Ok, now that you have seen the first picture I will tell you in real life they didn't look THIS bad but still you could see the uneven application. I actually redid this mani twice because I could not get it to work. Jellies fail me. I used thin coats and let them dry longer in between but no, not cooperative. You can see all the issues in the photos.

It photographed a lot lighter than it was in real life. I used two coats because I couldn't deal with it anymore. I absolutely love this color and have since I had seen the first pictures of Royal but my lord it does not play nice.

This picture above is the truest to color picture I could get. It is a deep royal blue and super shiny.

It pains me that I can not get the application down on this polish. I will say it did work a lot better than Royal did for me but that isn't saying much. If anyone has any tips on applying this type of polish I am all ears. I have done thin coats, thick coats, let them dry more, let them dry less and still this!

Since the mani pictures were sub par I decided to show you some pictures I took on my way to the dentist yesterday. Driving and picture taking NOT RECOMMENDED! The pictures aren't great for obvious reasons but traffic allowed me to take some decent ones. This is my view going over the bridge to the Miami Beach Area.

Also going over the bridge, that is the down town area.

The view of Miami Beach from the bridge. This is not the coast but the bay side of the area.

More of Miami Beach bay side view. Next time I go to the actual beach and the coast I will take pictures. It was a pretty nice day to be at the beach if you like that kind of stuff. I do not, I enjoy the cool quiet darkness where I can maintain my paleness.

That's all for now :)

Can't Cheat on Me

Hey everyone! I am sooo tired! Big bear dog is having a fit since my dad is off on vacation and last night she decided to act up again. She likes to wake me up at 1am just to be difficult. She doesn't want to go out and doesn't need water or anything yet she will bark until I come downstairs. Sometimes she will go out and then as soon as I lay back down and start to get comfortable here comes the barking again. She would not let up last night and after an hour and four trips down stairs I just gave up and tried to sleep downstairs. It was UNCOMFORTABLE and I barely slept. The last time I looked at the clock it was 3 am. Not to be outdone this morning when I let Bruce Kittlee Master Ninja Warrior out of his house he decided it was his job to make as much noise as possible so that I couldn't go back to sleep for a little bit before work. Sigh. These four legged creatures are killing me lol. I was dragging at work today then had to leave early for round two of the dentist so this is a tad bit late.

Today I have another Essence polish for you called Can't Cheat on Me. You know, I wish you could just say Can't Cheat on Me and have it work lol. I think the name of this polish is funny.

It is a really pretty silver holo. I believe this would be called a scattered holo but I am not great with identifying the difference.

Most of the time it looks silvery. It is a subtle silver and a subtle holo but it is very pretty.

I took tons of pictures of this to try and get the holo to show. Unfortunately it was already dark when I tried and I had to take the pictures inside.

It is sad because I couldn't get the holo to show much.

Also sad because it makes these pictures pretty boring.

This one shows the holo a wee bit more but not much. Sorry guys :(

Hopefully these nails start to grow a bit faster.

I think I want to try stamping with this polish, I am not sure how well it will work but it would be nice if it did.

That's all for now :)
