Baseball and Music

Hey Everyone!! What a week. Is it over yet? The school year is wrapping up so all the end of year events are going on now. Tonight is the banquet for the band and it has been giving me a major headache! I actually have a headache now and I need to go in search of drugs to get rid of it before dealing with blaring music and a bunch of teens and preteens. I did a mani for Memorial Day that I was going to post but the pictures came out awful and the mani wasn't that spectacular anyway. I had a pretty stressful day yesterday so I didn't make it to the computer to post. I also have a bad case of mom guilt right now because my son texted me earlier saying he felt like he was going to throw up. I can't leave work too early because I need to take a day off in the next couple of weeks and honestly I don't believe it is *that bad* if he won't go to the school nurse and call home. That is how I guage how sick he is lol I still feel bad because he isn't feeling well and I can't leave work to go get him. Darn that mom guilt.

I had told you last week about the band playing the National Anthem for the Miami Marlins baseball game and now I finally have those pictures for you. It was quite an adventure and one I wouldn't try again anytime soon. The kids seemed to have a good time and it was quite an experience for them so it all worked out. I don't have pictures of them actually performing because they were led onto the field from the back of center field and so not only was I facing their back but I couldn't see the huge screen to record/take pictures of that. I hadn't thought to send my camera with df or my brother to take pictures from the stands.

I started with a base of Color Club Cherubic from the 2012 Halo Hues.

I love the Halo Hues! The application is easy peasy and look at the rainbows. I took quick, uncleaned up pictures just so I could show you the base.

Cherubic is a nice nude type color with gorgeous holo. This is two no fuss coats.

I wanted to do a music and baseball theme so I used several plates. I used the baseball bat/ball from Cheeky CH35.

I did nail decals with the baseball bat and ball full nail image from Cheeky CH34.

For the Music portion of the mani I used Cheeky CH31 for the full nail music notes.

I attempted to use the Saxophone since my son plays the Sax but I didn't really enjoy how it came out. The Sax is from Cheeky plate CH30.

I was supposed to alternate music, baseball, music then baseball but somehow didn't end up doing that lol I made stamping decals out of the baseball designs and stamped the music designs straight on my nails.

I was so busy rounding up kids and making sure they were where they were supposed to be I almost forgot to take pictures.

I was a little disappointed with the Saxophone design but I loved the rest of it.

I was quite impressed that you could see the holo in the stadium; then again they do have bright lights.

I missed most of the game since I we were in the extreme outfield upper section and I was nervous about the kids messing around and falling or just getting lost or wandering off.

The one thing that I thought was amazing in this whole experience was my camera.  We were sitting about 8 rows from the 428ft mark way out in right field (thank you Miami Marlins for giving us the opportunity to buy these awesome seats and shoving a bunch of teenagers way out in the outfield. I totally won't go on my Marlins rant right now but there is definitely a rant!). What really amazed me is that I could zoom in and actually SEE the fish swimming in the fish tanks behind home plate!! For those of you who aren't baseball fans or don't know this about Marlins Stadium there are large fish tanks located behind the batting circles behind home plate.

They are pretty cool and I was quite impressed that my little camera was able to zoom in enough so I could watch the fish swim around.

That's all for now :)

Smitten Polish Watch Out for that Reef!

Hey Everyone! Happy Friday!! I am so excited since it is a long weekend. I love long weekends. I think that all weekends should be long ones lol Today I have the last polish in my Smitten Polish Shipwrecked Collection preview. These polishes are all gorgeous and you should buy them as soon as you can! lol You can follow Smitten Polish on facebook where Noelie does a great job of keeping her fans excited over upcoming polishes. It is always fun to see what she is working on. You can buy the Shipwrecked collection when it is released in June from Smitten Polish or Llarowe. I personally can't wait to get the other three polishes in the collection.

Smitten Polish Watch Out for that Reef!

Watch Out for that Reef! is a gorgeous peachy milky polish. This polish is packed with different size and shaped turquoise glitter and a gorgeous peach shimmer. The shimmer in this one is soo pretty!

I used three coats for this mani. This baby is jam packed with glitter and applied so nicely. The glitter pretty much jumps out of the bottle onto the nail.

Today, of course, I couldn't get the sun to cooperate with me. I did manage to get some pictures before it rained but the lighting wasn't cooperative.

This polish looks a little more pink on me than it does in the bottle. I love the combination of the peachy/pinky/salmon color with turquoise.

This polish reminds me of flamingos, Miami Vice, Art Deco type stuff and this little place that used to be on the boardwalk of Hollywood Beach when we were kids. The place sold snowcones and ice cream and we would always walk there when we were at the beach and get a treat.

I didn't need to use Gelous to smooth this polish out but I did use two coats of top coat to even it out a little more than it was after one coat. I could have dealt with it with just one coat of tc but I figured the pictures would look nicer with two.

I didn't realize this polish had square glitter until the first one popped up on my nail. I got very excited over this. Square glitter is my second favorite shaped glitter lol

I don't think I am taking this one off tonight. It is too pretty.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peak at the upcoming Smitten Polish Shipwrecked Collection. I really enjoyed bringing them to you! They will be released in June and you are going to LOVE THEM!

Sunken Galleon, Watch Out for that Reef!, Bermuda Triangle, Isla de Muerto.

That's all for now :)

Smitten Polish Isla de Muerto

Hey Everyone!!! It is almost Friday!!! I just took some Gluten Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Muffins out of the oven. I am very excited to go try one. I also made taco shells out of cheese tonight. It is quite and eventful food night. Before I run off to try a muffin and Vanilla Almond Milk I have another GORGEOUS Smitten Polish from the upcoming Shipwrecked collection. You can check Smitten Polish out on facebook and buy these gorgeous polishes when they are released in June from Smitten Polish or Llarowe.

Smitten Polish Isla de Muerto from the Summer Shipwrecked Collection.

Isla de Muerto is a gorgeous blue glass fleck polish that has both blue and copper flecks in it. It also has a gorgeous copper shimmer.

Two of my favorite colors are blue and copper and combined they are gorgeous. This polish knocked my socks off.

I used three coats and the application was like butter. Perfect application.

This polish looks almost like a foil and is amazingly shiny.

I keep thinking this is my favorite of the collection until I put the next one on and then that one becomes my favorite and I don't want to take it off.

I took a bunch of pictures but even though I am happy with the way they came out they don't do this polish justice. It is gorgeous.

The polish looks great in the shade and indoor lighting and then dazzles even more in the sun.

So pretty.

The copper is not shy at all.

You are going to love this polish. Trust me.

I can't wait for this collection to come out because I definitely need to get the rest of the collection.

Coming up tomorrow I will have the last polish in my Shipwrecked Collection week. I can't wait! I also need to go try one of those muffins now because they smell yummy.

That's all for now :)

Smitten Polish Sunken Galleon

Hey Everyone!! Sorry this is so late tonight. My son's little girlfriend (I still don't like saying it) had a chorus concert tonight and she got us tickets so that he could go see it. I was quite impressed with a couple of the kids who could really belt it out including her! It was a fun time and the music was good. I am a little behind now but I will make it up to you with a ton of pictures.

Today I have one of the glitter polishes from the Smitten Polish Shipwrecked Collection set to be released in June. You can purchase these polishes, when they are released, from Smitten's etsy shop or Llarowe.

Smitten Polish Sunken Galleon.

This is a gorgeous milky turquoise base with silver and gold circle glitter as well as tiny gold and turquoise glitter. I love how the circle glitters look like little coins or treasure.

I used three coats. Application was great and I didn't have to fish the glitter out at all. Some nails didn't get the large circles and some got more than one large circle but it looked very cool that way.

I had a really hard time with sunlight today. We had lots of rain, overcast and murky skies so the lighting is all over the place. I was able to get out in the sun for a minute to take a couple shots.

This polish is really really cool. I very much enjoy the large circle glitter and love the look of it when it looks like it does my pinky in the picture above. Sometimes some of the polish sits in the middle of the circles and the edges show more shiny silver or gold. It looks really cool and makes me think of coins.

This polish is really pretty and fun and a perfect polish for a Shipwrecked Collection.

You can see the circle glitter on my pinky in the picture above shows that look I love.

I did get a little bit of sun so shine on this polish. It looks amazing in any light though.

I took a ton of pictures because I couldn't stop staring at it.

The tiny glitter gives it a lot of depth that further reminds me of a sunken treasure.

I think I edited about 30 pictures of this one. I almost don't want to take it off but I know I need to show you  another polish tomorrow.

I love circle glitter.

Stay tuned tomorrow for another awesome polish from the Smitten Polish Shipwrecked Collection

That's all for now :)
